High up in the east Pyrenees, Andorra la Vella is the capital of the Principality of Andorra and the highest capital in Europe. This beautiful city is a popular ski destination and a major commercial center.
Famous for its natural heritage, the town is separated in two parts. The new part of town is very commercial, while the charming old town is characterized by picturesque stone streets and houses. Visit a local restaurant and enjoy traditional dishes like escudella, which is a stew of chicken, sausage and meatballs.
Relax in the city park or visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley with its glacial landscape. Ideal for all levels of skiers, the ski area of Grandvalira is the largest one in Southern Europe.

The city has no airport and the train station of L'Hospitalet-près-l'Andorre is the last one before Andorra, about two hours from Toulouse. There are regular bus services from Andorra-l’Ospitalet to Andorra la Vella.
Andorra was beautiful. Skiing with my wife and 11yo daughter was magical, a short bus ride to Encamp or a longer picturesque journey to Pas de La Casa, more snow would have made it perfect. Andorra La Vella was well located with easy public transport to all destinations. Don’t forget to buy an eSIM for getting internet when travelling. It also came in handy as the hotel internet was below expectations. I need to go again as I have not yet found any food places to recommend

If you are not an amateur skier, do not go to Andorra in...
If you are not an amateur skier, do not go to Andorra in winter. You won't make too many trips. Incredible traffic in the city, you are always standing in traffic jams for hours. Bad traffic organization. Forget about shopping, there is nothing beneficial and the stores are just disgusting, dusty with unbelievably unpleasant service. It's no tax haven, everything (except fuel) is more expensive than in Spain, don't be fooled by “offers” because it's simply untrue. Perfume, clothing, technical stuff you can buy in Europe much cheaper. Besides: really the decor (and smell) of most stores in Andorra is some kind of relic: everything smelly, dusty and I don't know.... You can find anything in any store : e.g., clothes, perfume, rice and camera. Sometimes you can feel like you are in a cheap Chinese neighborhood. :)

Amazing city, would live there for sure.
Amazing city, would live there for sure. Downtown was clean and silent. Stores have a good staff and you feel safe walking at any time of day. If you like adveture, driving in curvy roads down and up the mountains, choose the roads without the toll coming from Barcelona. Its just unbelievable

A lovely town.
A clean and safe city!
A lovely town.
Obviously, there are many shops for those who enjoy shopping.
The Caldea center is excellent (spa, thermal baths...).
Avoid the pizzeria La CABANA at all costs, as it is mediocre.
The restaurant El Refugi Alpí is inconsistent (we found hair in one of our main dishes).

Andorra la Vella is a very beautiful and walkable city.
Andorra la Vella is a very beautiful and walkable city. The river running through the city is pretty offering many picture opportunities. It has a large pedestrian area with many shops and restaurants. It is extremely clean, too. It has large parks and recreational areas. The old city is nicely preserved within the city and easily accessed. The panaramic views are gorgeous. Give youself a couple of days to sightsee and then travel around the rest of the country which has beautiful overlooks.

Great place, it is exactly how it looks in the photos!
I was here with my wife and 3 kids, everything was spotless clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff was always super responsive and helpful. We forgot to book a crib but the staff promptly arranged one for us.
Very easy to reach in the very center of Andorra la Vella, good size elevators (for the stroller and luggage).
Walkable with lots of things to do and see nearby.
I absolutely recommend it.
We liked the value of our stay. The price was extremely reasonable for the quality of the hotel. Our room was updated and extremely clean. The location of the hotel was perfectly situated on the main street of Andorra La Vella. There were many restaurants and activities near by.
Wonderful hotel is near to the city centre and Caldea Spa Complex. Friendly and loyal staff, private parking. If you have children there are a big playground close to the hotel
We were pleasantly surprised by how spacious the room was. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location, right in the centre of Andorra La Vella.
