Lovely place to stay if you're looking for something uncomplicated, quiet, set ina village but close to the mountrains.
Our apartment had absolutely everything we could have needed, the host was lovely and our late arrival was no issue at all. There is a bakery next door with a great offering plus a supermarket down the road. Opposite is a sports equipment shop where we could rent skis and boots. Overall great stay, we'd book again!

It was an interesting experience, staying in the old farmhouse from the 1800s. It is a farm, so obviously, there are animals - cats, dogs, goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, rabbits, even quails...Kids were allowed to pet them. Facilities and decorations are in line with the country life, so do not expect flat screen tv, or actually any tv :-). There is plenty of parking space right outside of the house and this accommodation is ready to take a good care of your ski equipment. We enjoyed the traditional breakfast made with local stuff.
Owner Rudy is a special kind of person. Very cordial, ready to help, and trying to make your stay pleasant. I hope he will be able to keep this attitude as long as possible.

We were welcomed by the bottle of wine, some yougurts, ham, cheese, eggs and milk in the fridge as well as bread. We aslo had some pasta, cereal,.coffee, tee and many more in the kitchen.I have never seen such hospitality in any accomodation I have ever visited. We felt really welcomed. The studio is about 6 minutes drive from Wutzeralm and 20 from Hinterstoder.Situated in calm vilage with the creek behind the studio.Just perfect

Very good for families with kids, from toys in kids pool and several kids play rooms for different ages up to strollers and sleds and pedal carts.
Hotel Restaurant DAS RÖSSL is located in a historical building in the centre of Windischgarsten. It has a traditional restaurant with typical Austrian cuisine, a bar and a wine cellar.

Nice small town, close to mountains so you can quickly go hiking or skiing or whatever you prefer. There is Aldo where you can buy food and a few restaurants. Not many of them were open during our stay though so we ended up buying pizza to go.

I was here for one night on 5th October.
I was here for one night on 5th October. The town was dead but I have no doubt this is a wonderful place to stay in the summer for a walking or cycling holiday. In the evening there was only one restaurant open,Gasthof Gruber which was excellent. The Italian restaurant in the hotel was closed but as the town represented the Marie Celeste this was not surprising.
Midweek in October is not a good time to come!

Our summer trip to Wurzeralm was amazing.
Our summer trip to Wurzeralm was amazing. We took the Wurzeralm cable car and then the Frauenkar so we could get quite easily to the Ramesch peak (2119 m) even with kids. The lifts were free of charge with the pyhrn-priel AktivCard that we got from our accommodation provider.

everything especially the owner Amelia. she was so kind. we have stayed only one night. we wished to have more days in this lovely place. it is a must to come back here.
beds are not small (as stated in a few rewiev) and there are spare blankets. bathroom is very comfortable and well decorated as if a part of five star hotel. garden just nearby a river is breathtaking. highly recomended for families with kids
The hotel is like something from a fairy tale - an old building next to the church, which is surrounded by mountains. Thanks to the thick walls of the hotel, it seems that there is no one else next to you, we had a great sleep in silence. Very tasty and high-quality breakfast. The staff is friendly.
Visited this hotel summer 2023. Absolute great location on top of a hill with a terrific view on the mountains. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. A lot of space in the apartments. We could also do a later check-out. We would definitely recommend it.
