By taking our car over on the barge we could travel around the island to the different beaches. It has some lovely places to see, some can only be accessed by car. The motel is well situated next to the pub for meals. You can walk to the beach. Great local busses. Plenty excursions if you want them. Magnetic Island is still an affordable place for a getaway.
Magnetic Island is still an affordable place for a getaway. Just need to be mindful of the stinger season and where you choose to swim. Horseshoe Bay and Picnic bay offer stinger nets. Alma Bay has great facilities and close to Arcadia pub.Guest review byRossAustralia - Review score10.0

Arcadia is a little quieter and less touristy than the popular Horseshoe Bay. Alma Bay is a beautiful place to swim, with natural protection from stingers. The folks running the motel were super friendly and helpful...
The folks running the motel were super friendly and helpful and tried to accommodate us as best as they could - letting us check in slightly early and check out slightly late, which was very much appreciated. The aircon could've been a bit better, but was fine in the end. Our room was clean, well appointed and spacious, and we loved the deck looking into the pool and garden.
