The overall experience was old school and personable. A real surprise. The way hotels should be.

The tourist lodge was in a great location on the Main Street, walking distance to the tourist information centre, and eating outlets. The room and bathroom were small but clean and comfortable. With accommodation hard to find at the last minute we were happy with this place. The large shared kitchen and eating facilities allowed us to cook our own meals if desired. We didn’t use the pool but it looked clean and refreshing on a hot day. Parking was on street, so not necessarily secure but we had no issues whilst there.

We visited many attractions, the information center was very helpful and we did a walking tour with them. We also visited Silverton, Daydream Mine, the Sculptures and Geo center and many more places.
We dined at the Musicians Club and Demo Club.
We are in our 80's so we hired a car and had no trouble getting around. We visited at least four galleries and quite a few museums. We fitted as much in as we could as we only had a week. We traveled up on the train from Sydney. Thank you Broken Hill xx

Broken Hill is a lovely mining town in the west of NSW.
Broken Hill is a lovely mining town in the west of NSW. With a vehicle, you can get almost everywhere to see all attractions both in town and a short distance away (example Silverton, Mundi Mundi lookout, and more. Friendly people, lovely main street of town ( Argent street) and arterial streets. Most, if not all amenities are here. Nice parkland with playground, public swimming pool, conveniently located near post office and main street. Lots of art. Safe friendly town. I have yet to experience here in winter

Broken Hill was surprisingly large considering it was on the north west of NSW. There was lots of things to see and do and it was a short distance to places like Silverton, Mundi Mundi Lookout and Umberumberka Reservoir. The Mad Max Museum was a trip down memory lane and was very reasonably priced. The living sculptures were fantastic and the area around that was well worth the trip out. Pro Hart gallery was sensational- leave at least an hour to watch the biography film on him and do justice to the displays. Surprised by the Titanic memorial in Sturt Park, which was a lovely place to eat dinner at on dusk. The Outback Astronomy experience was brilliant- Linda and Travis put on a great show. The Silver City Mine and Chocolate Factory was interesting. The Line of Lode Miners Memorial was moving to see all lists of names. We went on New Year’s day so didn’t get a chance to see inside.
We still have more places to explore like the Synagogue and Museum and the Railway Museum just to make a few. Enough to make a return trip well worthwhile. Great food options and fuel was reasonably priced and better than some places down in southern NSW. The time zone change was an unexpected quirk.
Roads in, out and around Broken Hill were smooth. Tar all the way to Silverton with a tiny bit of dirt road. Easily traversable by a 2WD if you have one. Weather was hot and dry - 36’C but everywhere was air conditioned. Was unaware there were so many goats on the way in from Nyngan.
You won’t be disappointed if you trek out there

I have had a couple of trips to Broken Hill and the area surrounding it. I love the vastness and the Tourist attractions are great. The Supermarkets are wonderful, the people are so friendly and the town is so clean. The old buildings provide a lovely backdrop for Photos. It may be a city - but it does not take long to get used to the Street layout.

It has everything you need for a relaxing stay in Broken Hill. Glenn has thought of everything, the kitchen has all the mod cons and there is a cute garden with a BBQ and dining table. We’ve stayed in hotels and motels in BH previously, and hands down this apartment is so much more value for money and relaxing.
Location good and easy to find. Hotel contacted us by text , unfortunately due to lack of phone reception, didnt get the text until we got into Broken Hill but the directions on the text were easy to follow and checking in was easy enough.
Room much nicer inside than what it looks from the outside!
Great facilities and modern design, had everything we needed for a really comfy and quiet stay. Superb location within minutes walk to good eateries ( looking at you Silly Goat and Broken Hill Pub😃) shops and Broken Hill Art Gallery . Also close to many other attractions.
That they allowed our little pet to stay.
A lot of hotels/motels are claiming to be pet friendly but when called, they disappointingly decline.
Annemarie responded to my phone calls.
There was a fridge & microwave, which is important to me.
The cabins were well set out and had everything we needed. The coffee pod machine was a very welcome addition! The bar, restuarant and firepit area was really lovely.
