The advertising material regarding our room was misleading.
The advertising material regarding our room was misleading. The wardrobe was in a kitchen cupboard along with the vacuum cleaner, the spare blanket, spare pillows and most importantly the kitchen tidy. There was also no door on the cupboard. If you required cutlery, crockery etc., you had to ask at the office. As for the bathroom, going to the toilet was a real problem. The bathroom was made to fit the space and at one time you could see where alterations had been made to accommodate a toilet and built in vanity. The toilet had 2 fixed walls and a half wall across the front of the toilet. When you sat properly on the toilet, your knees hip a half wall, so you ended up on a 45 degree angle to miss the wall. The toilet seat moved around every which way and you were unable to tighten any of the screws that attached the seat to the bowl. Now to the bedroom. It was not soundproof and you could hear conversations next door reasonably clearly and as for the nocturnal activities, we could have done without. Best & cheapest accommodation for area. As a well travelled Australian, here is 1 of the best I've experienced Australia wide. Most highly recommend here for 1 night, or extended stays. Just in Emerald for 2 days.
Just in Emerald for 2 days. Got everything done that I planned. Good visit. Emerald is a medium sized town and pretty much everything is just a 10 - 15 minute walk away. The golf course is significantly improved over the last few years. Pleasant place to play and Pro Shop staff are really friendly and helpful. We had a lovely dinner at the Emerald Star Hotel. Found it a bit strange that the local Woolworths didn't open till 9am unlike in Brisbane that open at 7am. Found an IGA with lovely local bread. Unfortunately finding a good coffee was a challenge.Guest review byMary-EllenAustralia
