Check in was quick. The whole Hotel has been beautifully renovated. Our room was small but had a sink and bench. Also we could walk straight out on the gorgeous balcony. The shared showers and toilet were right opposite. One night stay so that’s all we required. The air con was good also. There is a set of stairs to walk up to the rooms and you arrive at a shared lounge and kitchen area which is lovely. The dining/ bar area is massive and very tastefully done. The meals were delicious. It was in a good location and was quiet on a week night for us.

Great having fans and aircon and plenty of storage on 2nd bedroom. Loved the quiet despite lots of guests on-site. Bathroom was quite small but adequate.

Goondiwindi is a well placed large border town in mid western Queensland, with most services well catered for. Can get very hot in summer, so air con is a must at night. Seems like a large proportion of FIFO (Fly in, Fly out) employees during the weekdays, probably associated with the cotton industry in the area. We found very decent and cost effective dining at the Railway Hotel in Goondiwindi, other travelers said they enjoyed a meal at the Bao Bao Chinese restaurant in the main street. For the main, the townsfolk are country people, and tend to be quite friendly.

Goondiwindi is a lovely town.
Goondiwindi is a lovely town. However, and a big however, it has a substantial crime problem of which we were unaware beforehand. Visitors need to be aware of this and be very conscious of their personal security and the security of their property.

Great town, and this was our second stay there.
Great town, and this was our second stay there. I'd like to stay a couple of days next time, and really explore the area, but this is half way on a 1400km trip to our daughter, so we are either in a rush to get there, or we are just wanting to get home.

Porky's Pizza offer a great variety of pizzas with no skimping on the fillings. You can get plenty of steps up in wandering around the town - and there are no hills. Gunsynd statue, the Murray Cod statue and The Art trail are an easy walk.

Motel need to have in place a security to ensure guest property is safe as Goondiwindi is a youth crime hot spot and the QLD police service and response time is very poor would advise travellers not to Stop in Goondiwindi the motel had very poor security lighting and the town had limited hire car facility for guest to heir car after there car was stolen by local youth.noting the night of our visit 2 other motels and the local caravan park were broken into and had cars stolen.

Arriving on a Sunday, saw a lot of places closed.
Arriving on a Sunday, saw a lot of places closed. We really enjoyed the art trail and the walk along the river. Everything was very clean. The local map supplied by our accommodation was easy to follow and gave us a good choice of sights to see.

Under new management who are making progressive efforts to revitalise the venue. Friendly and welcoming check-in. Basic cabin accommodation which was a bit dated and needs sprucing up. On-site was quiet however being in an industrial estate and close to a highway means there can be heavy transport noise. Lovely lagoon with lots of water birds.
The accommodation was excellent. We travel from Perth to Queensland often and stay at 8 to 10 hotel / motels along the way, and this was perhaps the best we have encounted.
clean and quiet. courtesy bus came from Royal Hotel, pick up and drop off and included a free drink. overall my stay in Goondiwindi was very enjoyable.
