The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The Meals were fantastic and the service was excellent. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Upon check in the publicans had a wonderful chat with us and gave the kids some lollies after checking in (they checked with me first if it was okay to do so). On the second night when we ate there my youngest child became upset and tired and the female publican asked me if she could give her an ice block, I agreed and she came back with an icey pole wrapped in paper towel and asked her if she could do anything else for her, such beautiful service even when they were super busy!
Surrounded by vineyards and offering lovely countryside views, Owl Head Lodge features a selection of cottage and apartment accommodation, close to the historic township of Gulgong.

We loved that the cabins were brand new and so clean. We saw that they had installed a pool but it wasn't operational yet - much to the despair of my children! We didn't expect a pool, but seeing that it was there was exciting for the next time we visit.
We loved how close it was to town and that the town has historical charm and warmth.

Excellent find - peaceful location but ideal for vineyard tours once we’d sussed out taxis!

Loved Gulgong, can't wait to get back and explore more of the area. Loved the look and feel of the town, so impressed with how the buildings have been maintained, gives a great glimpse back in time, to bad more places aren't preserved in this way.

A selection of outstanding museums in the context of a beautifully preserved historic town. The main street is delightful to walk along. Lots of wineries nearby to sample. Close enough to Mudgee to be convenient for excellent restaurants and don't miss the balloon ride at daybreak, it's brilliant.

The Pioneers Museum is interesting & extensive, even though there's a fair amount of repetition. The Holtermann Collection is well worth seeing. The 2 pubs we frequented (Centennial & Prince of Wales) had a good atmosphere & reasonable food. There's a good Thai restaurant for variety. Restaurants & pubs surprisingly busy for a country town.
The Drip (Goulburn River NP) is a lovely walk & not too hard; Hands on Rock (up the road from it) rather underwhelming.

A small historic village that has maintained its historic feel and look, yet offers all amenities that I needed. Plenty of places to eat and sip a coffee. We enjoyed a night at the Post Office Hotel - live music (not too intrusive) ,, lively atmosphere , really well cooked meal and, best of all, friendly, efficient staff.
The pioneer museum is massive and has something for everyone who enjoys delving into our history

The location was great.
We travelled in a group of 5 and we were accommodated very comfortably. A lovely small hotel and one comment was "its as cute as a button"!
Wonderful country hospitality, we would definitely stay again.
Location was central to Gulgong and near enough to Mudgee to meet my needs. The rooms consisted of holiday style hotel units at the rear of the hotel. They were reasonably modern, functional and clean.
Great restaurant and complimentary breakfast was a great addition the meals were delicious, comfortable beds with easy access to the Main Street of gulgong the best place to stay in gulgong
Gulgong is a great place. Very nice town. Pub is centrally located (which is not hard in Gulgong as it's a small place)
