The hotel was great but whilst it promised tea and coffee making in the room (via Booking.com) there was none, so a bit disappointed in that. I don 't think we got the room we thought we had booked but rather one of the cheaper ones. The building itself was amazing with so many historical facts of its life a a mill. The Dome served a good choice of meals (dinner and breakfast) and the cellar bar had an amazing selection of nibbles and wine. Very easy to get around Katanning and some historical sites to visit.

I love visiting country towns, especially those with the old buildings. Katanning has plenty of those and has done well to maintain their facades. I walked the two main streets window shopping and visited a few of the shops- Small Change (bulk foods, eco store and gifts - I highly recommend ! and the antique/op shop (a little expensive). Everyone was very friendly. The White Gum Cafe within the IGA came well recommended and didn't disappoint. Dinner was enjoyable at Dome with a glass of wine. The town did not disappoint in any way and I just wish I could've stayed longer. Day trips using Katanning as a base are very doable and on the cards at a later date. My accommodation was the Premier Mill Hotel in the centre of town, although a little expensive it was a wonderful stay there.

Enjoyed strolling through the shops etc, people on the street were very pleasant and talkative. Appeared to be tidy and quite clean. At the time of our visit was cold and we had miserable weather although the trip was still very pleasant. We stayed at the Premier Mill Hotel and ate at the Dome Cafe that is there. The Cordial Bar there was very unique and the staff were excellant.

interesting to visit....been there done that. Had we not had friends living in Katanning, probably wouldn't have come. Went to visit Lake Ew....? Followed gps and got no where other than locked gate onto a property...not a road??????????? That was a turn off for wasted hour there & back.

The Mill was a super place to stay.

The Mill was a super place to stay. Pity the cafe wasn't quite up to what we expected. Overall though the hotel was delightful. Very clean & staff were efficient , attentive & pleasant. Particularly the concierge Nathan. Cheers .

Not a lot happening in Katanning.

Not a lot happening in Katanning. Everything closes very early and Saturday night finishes about 9.00 pm. Would be hard pressed to find anything to eat in the evening if you didn't feel like Asian food. Next time would probably only stay one night at hotel and move on to Denmark/Albany the second day.
