Great place to stay. Everything we needed to suit our needs. The washing machine was a bonus for us. Kitchen fully equipped for self catering. Only one other unit near us with a very quiet resident. Perfect location to walk around Kingscote and its lovely foreshore precinct.

Susie was extremely helpful!! She went above and beyond to help me with my stained top (which came clean). She helped us pack our picnic as we checked out and highlighted the map for the perfect picnic spot. The environment was clean, comfy, friendly and welcoming. It was walking distance to parkrun. They found an earring I left on the floor and got to me before we left (I found the other one 🎉👏🤩).

Kangaroo Island is the perfect island to see, and Kingscot is the largest town on the island, with all the facilities. Although it closes early on weekends, it doesn't spoil the experience of this fascinating island safari and almost perfect beach walking experience

A great little town to base at with central location and many great places to eat. Good IGA- type store (Drakes) for supplies. Surprisingly good bookshop with coffee + lovely resident dog. Good esplanade walk and local history sites within walking distance. The best tidal pool area I have seen . KI has an amazing coastline, good food and wine. Kingscore is a great holiday destination for both families and those who want peace and quiet.

I was worried that staying in Kingscote would mean I would spend all my time driving to get to island locations; however, that is not true. It's a good place for a base camp to explore the island, if you don't want to camp.
A word of warning, though. There is no cab service on the island. If you come by ferry, you can take a shuttle to Kingscote, but getting from Kingscote to the airport where my car rental was, was difficult. Luckily, helpful Australians helped us out.

Beautiful place to stay.
Beautiful place to stay. Our hotel was right on the waterfront and it was lovely to sit on the foreshore in the evening. We ate at the Hotel where we stayed for dinner and it was very nice. The breakfast is buffet style and you can choose to either have the full breakfast or the continental breakfast and as much as you like.

This is natures wonderland all on one island.
This is natures wonderland all on one island. Highly recommend going to the Remarkable Rocks and the Seal Colony. Bush walks in Flinders Chase National Park are beautiful.
We were disappointed we couldn’t fit in a swim with the dolphins as this was also on our bucket list.
Kangaroo island shows off so much natural beauty without the tourist traps.
You will definitely need a car and a few days to get around as the island is huge. A trip yo Flinders Chase for example is around a 100 km from Kingscote.

The cafes and wine bars were fantastic.
The cafes and wine bars were fantastic. I went with friends to 'Tirage' wine bar for dinner, 'Cactus' cafe for breakfast and 'So Sando' cafe for lunch. All three were to be commended for the quality of their food and presentation of each of the meals. Each one was superb. The newly renovated jetty was a great place to stroll and the book shop "Big Quince Print" across from the jetty was a nice stop for a coffee and a book.

This was a great place for the two of us while we explored Kangaroo Island.
One of the challenges when finding accommodation on KI, is that many non-hotel rentals are larger properties for families. There are just the 2 of us travelling and this place was ideal for our 3 night stay.
We liked the peace and quiet and yet it was just over 5 mins to Kingscote.
The property is new and is well maintained with everything we needed.
The location of the cabins was spectacular. Surrounded by a peaceful bush setting with kangaroos coming to our cabin every night. The cabins had everything we needed for our stay including a stove, fridge and washing machine which was a bonus. Only a short drive to go in to Kingscote for meals and shopping. Located on the Playford Highway meant we could travel easily to tourist attractions.
We had a very comfortable room with access to the balcony looking out to the ocean. The on site restaurant was very good but make sure to reserve a table as there are not many dining options near the hotel for dinner. We found a nice coffee shop the next morning for breakfast.
The cottage was spacious and had it's own private entrance and garden. The bed was very comfortable. It's located on the beach front and a short walk to the supermarket and local hotel. It's also and an ideal starting point to visit the N.P. and various parts of the island.
