This stay felt very personal and welcoming. It was nice to stay with a local rather than at a big hotel. The breakfast was delicious. David was very accommodating.

Phenomenal hotel! Located right on top of the blue mountains sitting on the most popular trails, yet quiet, comfortable and luxurious!
Not a single complaint except I didn’t stay long enough. The bathrooms were fabulous with big baths and separate showers and great tea and a kettle. I will definitely be back!

It was close to the areas we wanted to visit but the distance from them also ensured it was a quiet neighbourhood. It was only a 10 minute drive south to Katoomba/Leura and 5-10 minutes drive north to Blackheath. There were plenty of food options within a short distance and we discovered the lovely Potbelly in Medlow Bath that had really tasty meals.

Mellow Bath is in the throws of a very large roadwork plan.
Mellow Bath is in the throws of a very large roadwork plan. We came here last year and it seemed as if nothing has progressed! The traffic chaos here is not good and can’t be good for the local businesses.

Rustic but elegant is what I would describe the decor and feel of Sable Mae. With all the modern amenities you would expect to find and more. Comfortable beds, dining chairs and lounge. Free wifi and streaming tv services and twin Sonos Bluetooth speakers for your Spotify playlist. There is air conditioning and a gas fireplace in the living room and every room has a heater as well so winter won’t be a problem. A big bathtub in the main bathroom is a treat .My kids loved the fire pit and hand feeding the most beautiful parrots that came right to our door and then our hands.

This is one of many lovely suburbs to stay in the Blue Mountains.
Medlow Bath has a railway station, so you could easily walk to the accommodation at The Chalet and Guesthouse we just reviewed, or to the much more expensive Hydro Majestic. The Hydro has a nice cafe and a lovely outlook. And the tour of the hotel is great! But there are other alternatives for accommodation.

The Winter Garden Restaurant was excellent, we had two evening meals and a High Tea during our stay. We were disappointed The Boiler Room restaurant is only open for lunch and the Asian restaurant hasn't reopened since Covid 19 lockdown. Atmosphere is very good and lounges comfortable for reading and reflecting. History of the Hydro Majestic detailed in the Pavillion was interesting and some pleasant drives in and around the area. Rooms were comfortable and very clean and great pillows.

Staying here has been a bucket list item since I last stayed for a school camp in 1982!! That was in a dingy bunk room downstairs, so I always wanted to stay in a lovely room with a view over the valley. It has only taken me 42 years to do it! Our room was lovely and clean and comfortable and had a little balcony to enjoy the views and watch the sunset from. The Hydro is full of history and has been beautifully renovated. The staff at check in are warm and friendly. A fantastic night in a grand old hotel.
I’ve always wanted to stay here and am so glad I did. The hotel is beautiful and is really lovely to just walk around and relax in the various lounge areas.
