Breakfast at the hotel offers a somewhat limited (but satisfying!) selection of options with the staff going above and beyond to ensure we had exactly what we wanted. Room sizes are large and well furnished (if a bit dated). The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The restaurant and winery on the property are excellent.
Featuring a terrace, restaurant, bar and free WiFi, Hotel Cessnock is located in Cessnock, 7.1 miles from Hunter Valley Gardens and 27 miles from University of Newcastle.

We liked nothing about our stay here in this hotel.
Boasting a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, The Carriages Boutique Hotel and Vineyard is located in Pokolbin. Featuring a tennis court, the property is located within 1.4 mi of Hunter Valley Gardens.

First impression driving up we were excited with how cute it looked amongst the landscape, so easy to find with the sms we recieved prior to arriving giving directions to the guesthouse. Parking close by for unpacking the car, the verandah is so long, tables and chairs out the front and this is where we ate our meals overlooking the gorgeous setting, I loved meeting our neighbours outside the rooms and sitting around socialising everyone was so friendly and lovely, also entertaining lots of laughs.
Hosts were lovely, greeted with big welcoming smiles, checking in to make sure everything is okay allowing time to ask questions, also telling us where the best spots were to go to view wildlife ie baby water hens by the dam, they encourage walking around and exploring the property.
The room was spacious and had lots of character It had everything we could possibly need, well thought out even had mozzie repelliant in the bathroom. Extra blanket, hangers in the cupboard all the creature comforts you would have at home. it is so peaceful there of a night making it easy to sleep. Breakfast being included came in a beautiful picnic basket, plenty of food to eat ie fresh croissants, freshly squeezed orange juice etc.
I felt like everything our hosts did and included in our stay they put their personal touch to it ie cereal in a a cute little container instead of the box it comes in, fruit in bowls with little cute lid covers. Where they have located tables and chairs, seats throughout the gardens for guests to use and enjoy.
We spent alot of time in the pool was so cool and refreshing as temps were high and to our surprise in the room in a basket was big pool towels another example of how they have thought of everything.
I will definitely be coming back to stay again at The Carriages Boutique Hotel and Vineyard

Perfect place to have time away together, felt like a million miles away from the real world but also close enough to enjoy the Hunter valley restaurants and vineyards. Also recommend doing the ballon aloft hot air balloon.
Small mouth vodka distillery,Hunter distillery were excellent and we ate at goldfish restaurant which was excellent.
Although located 20mins out of town we didn’t mind the drive as we loved the private location and scenery

The place itself was reasonable, however the company who run it are rude and very unhelpful. The WiFi didn't work nor the fireplace and when they were told the issues, they said they would attend to it but they didn't. The fact they want a $300 bond before giving you the access code is outrageous. We left a phone charger behind and they wanted $25 to mail it back to us in Sydney. We've sent much larger packages to Brisbane for a lot less. The place we stayed wasn't very clean and the toiletries they provide for a 2 night stay were insufficient for 2 people. The view is lovely but that is probably the only positive thing we can say about the place.

Mount View is a fabulous location for wineries such as Petersons or Briar Ridge. If you are dining at Bistro Molines the Mount View is a perfect choice.
We had a short trip through Bellbird and brunch at Wollombi - about 20 minute drive.

Vineyards are great - the vineyards of Pokolbin are also nearby. Loved the views - breathtaking! The secondary roads are a little spotty - particularly after the significant spring rains - but would definitely return!

Wonderful property set a top a hill looking down on grassy fields below. It was a pity due to the weather we were unable to utilise the pool. My only criticism was you need to provide paper towels and tissues.

Everything about this property was absolutely perfect.
Everything about this property was absolutely perfect. So peaceful and beautiful. The location is perfect, although we hardly left the accommodation as we loved it so much. The finishing touches are just superb. We stayed at the Villa Lorea, which is the one with the Infrared Sauna. Although the others all have spa baths which would have also been great. Either way, it was amazing. Every room, every appliance is so well thought through, and the host is easily reachable and totally respected our privacy and space. The kitchen is fully stocked with all appliances, cutlery, the works. Awesome food and essentials in the pantry and fridge for breakfast time, and you can order extras like cheese platters, champagne, desserts, BBQ platters, etc.... i think we ordered most of those and they were all superb. We can't wait to come back again and try one of the other villas as well. Probably the nicest weekend stay I've ever had to date. Just perfect. Thank you.

Cedars in Mount View was everything you could expect for, the photos do not do it justice!!
We stayed at The Vue - had stunning views, comfy bed and soft towels, a lot of movie options in your night in with the bath perfectly positioned or otherwise lounging on the couch. This is a beautiful little escape away from the hustle & bustle!!
I also would recommend booking in for a massage as the ladies were amazing, one of the best massages I’ve had!!
the property itself was absolutely beautiful! the country and surrounds were splendid! it was an amazing experience to stay at cottages on mount view! the property was clean and tidy.
