The view was amazing. The room was surprisingly quiet considering it's location -very central. But best of all was the staff - can't fault them. They really make you feel like a part of the family.

Portland is a good base for hiking part of the Great South West Walk. Seeing the gannet colony at Point Danger at 5.30pm was a highlight. Very informative guide. The dahlias at the Botanic gardens were beautiful.

The views were amazing with lots of lovely walking trails and coastline to explore. The port itself was very interesting. We found everyone very friendly. Portland has everything you could want in terms of activities, shops and places to eat.

Portland was a very pleasant surprise.
Portland was a very pleasant surprise. Great town beach, clifftop walks and nearby Capes Nelson and Bridgewater where you could go for lovely walks and swims. Check out the historic water tower, a real little gem and the best view of the area.

Beautiful city and spotlessly clean , no graffiti not like the rest of Victoria , especially grubby Melbourne . Came from the Gold Coast to see the Gannets and didn’t disappoint. Information Centre staff were very helpful for an old guy . There seems to be a lack of restaurants to go for dinner .

Great place to visit.
Great place to visit. Gannet colony worth a look with the free Gannet colony tour. Watching the truck at the port fully tip vertical to empty their loads was amazing. The historic buildings. Don't forget a visit to Cape Bridgewater and the beautiful beach. While you are there do the Blow hole, Petrified Forest and Seal colony walk. Take a fishing or Tourist charter.

Victoria House isn’t accommodation it’s an experience! From the moment we were greeted warmly by our host, and given the tour of the amazing heritage building to the complementary port, cognac and fruit cake in the drawing room with open fireplace , to the amazing Victorian era rooms and facilities. This stay was phenomenal. Unfortunately we were only there for one night. It is worth the drive and we are looking forward to going back. A definite unique experience
A beautiful historic superior accommodation house in the middle of town, but just off the main street and super quiet. Easy to leave the car behind and walk the town. The room was beautifully presented with everything you need to cook a meal in the kitchenette. We had a separate sunny reading/relaxing room overlooking the garden and the claw foot bath was a luxury. Our host was a delight. So friendly and helpful with any queries. Loved this stay in Portland.
Staying at this hotel was an absolute breeze from start to finish! With easy entry and ample parking, the hassle of finding a spot was completely eliminated. Portland Retro motel offered a comfortable stay without breaking the bank. It's great for travellers seeking convenience and value. Highly recommended for a fuss-free and budget-friendly experience!
We had a lovely room, really enjoyed having the spa bath. The breakfast was great and it was really interesting to hear the history of the house from Roger (who is a great host). Really appreciated meeting Lou the greyhound and the red wine in the lounge area. Very cosy. Great location in Portland.
