Portland was a very pleasant surprise.

Beautiful city and spotlessly clean , no graffiti not like the rest of Victoria , especially grubby Melbourne . Came from the Gold Coast to see the Gannets and didn’t disappoint. Great place to visit.
Great place to visit. Gannet colony worth a look with the free Gannet colony tour. Watching the truck at the port fully tip vertical to empty their loads was amazing. The historic buildings. Don't forget a visit to Cape Bridgewater and the beautiful beach. While you are there do the Blow hole, Petrified Forest and Seal colony walk. We visited at New Year, so Portland had it's Christmas decorations up, plus sideshows and rides on the Foreshore. There are plenty of choices when it comes to eating out. We visited Cape Nelson Lighthouse, Bridgewater Bay Cafe & Bridgewater Blowholes & Petrified Forest.Guest review byJudyAustralia

From the moment we were greeted warmly by our host, and given the tour of the amazing heritage building to the complementary port, cognac and fruit cake in the drawing room with open fireplace , to the amazing Victorian era rooms and facilities. Easy to leave the car behind and walk the town. The room was beautifully presented with everything you need to cook a meal in the kitchenette. We had a separate sunny reading/relaxing room overlooking the garden and the claw foot bath was a luxury. Our host was a delight. So friendly and helpful with any queries.
