Very nice seaside town with lots of facilities, some better than others! I recommend the ice cream parlour and the Pastry Place and the bar at the Robe Hotel. Sails restaurant a major disappointment, very expensive, poor table position and grumpy owner.

Robe is a rocking town with many visiters and lots of eateries and coffee shops. Can be a lot cooler than inland destinations in both summer and winter. Old town with lots of history and heritage type buildings.

This has been a popular location in SA for many years - just make sure you do plenty of research where you are staying. Robe has a wonderful history reflected in the museums, excellent beaches, quaint cottages, and fishing galore. There are numerous shops that sell souvenirs etc, plenty of pubs and restaurants.

So much history to absorb!
So much history to absorb! We enjoyed visiting the Obelisk and seeing the old gaol (although not much left there). Read a bit about the Royal Circus and the arrival of Chinese immigrants - interesting. We took a stroll at sunset - all very pleasant.

It was small.
It was small. It wasn't over run and crowded in February anyway so I don't know about DEC JAN Peak. Looks like Greece in parts. Love the limestone buildings. Has cute shops not many. Good fish and chip shop. Big long beaches for swimming and 4WD only 3- 5 minutes away. Camping area also.
Only 1 cute beach in town but not really a proper full on swimming beach unless you go at high tide.

l loved the many beaches at Robe.
l loved the many beaches at Robe. The Ocean is a glorious Blue color that you do not see in Melbourne. Loved all the sea shells and even though it was 23 degrees the oceans not cold.
The toilets and showers were clean on the Beach. The Coastal walk paths are scenic and easy to walk. The jetty is lovely and people were fishing from it. The historical Cemetery, the Gaol Ruins, and Maritime Museum were very interesting. The many cafes and Restaurants were all very good. Loved the Clothes shops. Lots of parking all over. Did not go to Sails Restaurant as it was pricy and the servings looked small. The fish and Chip shop, Olives Pizza Restaurant and the Caledonian Pub were all delicious for dinner and very friendly staff. Great Ice cream shop in Robe also. Drift Cafe for lunch had a nice atmosphere with lots of tables both inside and out. Food was delicious too. There is a lovely little Studio Gallery in the Main Street called Terry Johnston who is the Artist that has painted all the Art/paintings, its Colourful, Original with a lovely feeling about his work. Mostly Beach inspired and reasonably priced. l will be returning to Robe again.

Location and staff
The hotel is situated near restaurants and shops so we can really enjoy our meal and wine without having to drive back to our room. Staff is really accommodating too. We reported an issue with our bathroom and they rectified it right away. And special thanks to Carolyn too! We left some important items in our room, and she exert all means to contact us so we can collect it before leaving Robe!
I needed pet friendly accommodation and this suited my purposes. Lovely outlook over the lake. The room was nice and roomy and the bed and pillows very comfortable. Functional kitchenette with full stove/oven, fridge and microwave. Plus crockery and utensils.
Older home, more a beach house, in older area of Robe. Very grateful to find a property to take small dog. Comfortable, but only coffee, tea, sugar supplied but no milk or cereal sachets, which for the price would have been nice to include.
