Boasting garden views, Whitlow Manor features accommodation with a garden, a terrace and barbecue facilities, around 50 km from Mount Baw Baw.

The ketal had hair and stuff inside it, when we arrived someone had left the gas on so we have to wait 2 hours till we could actually enter but even then the smell still wasn't gone, the shower head was broken and annoying to use.

We loved our stay in Walhalla.

We loved our stay in Walhalla. We had been before but not overnight. The Ghost tour was a highlight, our Guide was excellent and imparted a lot of historical knowledge to us about Walhalla. The tour was quite extensive and well worth the money. Walhalla is a very interesting town and it is worth exploring and looking at its history. The Post Office museum is excellent with many interesting objects and archives to look at. The old Cemetery is quite beautiful and so peaceful. There are many walks around the area with great views.

Walhalla is a lovely small town in the midst of a picturesque valley with steep hills and deep forests. It is steeped in gold mining history and you can see and feel it everywhere walking around the town and checking out the historical post office, corner store, cemetery and old fire house. Ghost tour is amazing and we learned a lot of history - ghostly and ordinary, from our brilliant tour guide Brian. We visited the gold mine (extended) to learn more about the miners and their lives in the mines. We tried panning for gold, and rode the diesel train between Walhalla and Thomson Station. Our dinner at the local Wally Pub was excellent and plentiful. We finished our weekend with a lovely 8-km walk from Thomson Station to the Poverty Point Bridge which unfortunately is closed so we had to retrace our steps back to Thomson Station.

A lovely little historic town that is well facilitated with clean public toilets, picnic area, a few shops and cafe and a quaint pub that serves very good and reasonably priced counter meals. Staff are very friendly. The historic train ride is enjoyable and provides an opportunity to see the scenery up close. The mine tour is very informative and the volunteers that work at the various attractions are all very friendly and enthusiastic about making the visitor have a good stay. A great place for all ages and a lovely get away for a couple of days.

Walhalla is a quaint, picturesque former gold mining town with an amazing history. We loved the train trip and the gold mine tour. The Post Office museum is lovely and the old cemetery clinging to the mountainside is well worth a wander. We didn’t make it to the mountain top cricket ground - but we will definitely be back!

It was my first time travelling to Walhalla and definitely won't be the last. This gorgeous little town is full of history, beautiful views, and lots to do and explore. I would definitely recommend checking out the Gold Mine, Goldfields Railway, the Tramline Walk, and the Walhalla Ghost Tour. We stayed at Lee Manor and thought that it was a fantastic cozy home with perfect views.

A lovely town steeped in history around gold mining.

A lovely town steeped in history around gold mining. Lovely walks everywhere, tree heaven, parks, creeks & streams. Lovely old houses dating back to the mid 1800's. Peaceful & quiet area for chilling out and relaxing. Friendly folk in the small businesses. The train ride from Walhalla to Thomson is a must do as is the Long Tunnel Mine tour. I'm disappointed that I couldn't walk the steep hill to the cemetery as I would have liked to read the headstones. The cricket pitch would have been good to get to but once again, too steep for me at my age. The Witchery Cafe serves great coffee and hot chocolate but you have to ask for marshmallows...lol. We ate at the local pub, food was average. All in all, a fabulous place to visit.

Beautiful home, clean and well presented in a perfect location only a short walk into town. Stunning gardens, and all you need provided. Great communication from the owners with lots of helpful travel information and rapid responses to any questions! Excellent Wi-Fi, which is essential in Walhalla where there's little reception. Ample heating options so the home was never cold, even when 0 degrees outside. Perfect cottage getaway for families, couples and friends. Very comfortable and relaxing stay. Will be sure to stay again!

The Mill House cottage is a perfect quiet getaway. Charming with a wonderful veranda with great views. Friendly and helpful owner. Everything you need in the house for a great stay. Most relaxing 2 nights stay. Walhalla is a quiet and inviting place. Easy walk to tiny village and pub. The train is a great experience, and food at Wallys pub is delicious big meals and great value. Good bushwalking, walk up to the cricket pitch a must. Also Witchery Cafe has delicious home baked cakes.

The location - being just above the train station where you can watch the engines shunting - was delightful. Not to mention just how close it was to everything in Walhalla. The building itself is charming, and perfect for a quick getaway for two. As long as you don't mind steps, you'll have a good time. The bed was very comfortable and the decorations charming. I loved the wood heater, and it did a good job of warming the place.

Perfect base for our family to explore Walhalla. Spotlessly clean and great communications with the owner, Nathan. Our 4yr old declared the bunkbed and spa bath his highlight of the entire trip!
