The place was immaculate. Kitchen and bathroom was fully equipped. The view from the kitchen window was breathtaking. The dug-out was like a home away from home. Close to town centre. Thank you to the host.

We arrived end of season but enjoyed the Red Opal mine tour and a little fossicking ..plus refreshing beer at the pub and emus wandering in town. Unfortunately the solar operation was closed during our visit but also looked interesting. We took provisions for cooking a meal at the dugout house.

Great little town. Great underground accommodation.
Great little town. Great underground accommodation. Pub was excellent with the locals, owners and staff very friendly. Super Muriel on external wall of pub being painted while we were there. Fabulous Muriel !! Very talented lady !! Booked the underground mine tour but missed it as we got there well after 3pm due to fatal car accident blocking the highway between Cobar & Wilcania. A reason to go back !!

The Red Earth Opal mine cafe, shop and underground tour were fantastic. The pub was great with huge outdoor area and the food was good. The White house tour was a fascinating look inside a beautiful underground house full of artworks created by the owner with her husband doing the tour of the house. It's easy to get around White Cliffs and you can fossick and find bits of opal basically anywhere, even the side of the road. Everyone was friendly and helpful and were really keen to share their experiences of living there and the mining.

I recommend the RED EARTH UNDERGROUND MINE TOUR.
I recommend the RED EARTH UNDERGROUND MINE TOUR.
Also the White House tour.
Didn’t have time to go to National Parks building or the local hotel or general store or do the self-guided tour of town.

There is nothing I liked about the hotel.
There is nothing I liked about the hotel. It lacked facilities like coffee making in room. The rooms were bland and boring. We had the only room with private bathroom - it was large but stark cold and unpleasant.
Lighting in the room was poor.
One of the meals was ok, the other soso.
Access to the hotel was terrible. The recent rain should be no excuse to the state of the road.
Over-rated!
