Receptionist (in the hotel) was pleasant but neglected to inform us that their restaurant was closing early that evening! Ugh! Meant we had to go out (in POURING rain) to find an eatery. No bench space at all in the room. It's a good sized room but needs something you can put your gear on! We are too old to be sorting belongings on the floor. And there is no m'wave (which is my fault as I just assumed all accommodation has that now).

Individual cabins with no adjoining walls. Each cabin had its own undercover parking. Extremely quiet, perfect. Bed was comfy with a warm quilt. Also had AC. Looking at sunsets at night from little verandah was beautiful.

More exploration required as Wondai looks like a wonderful little town with lots to offer. There was a lot of birdie in the park we visited which we got some fantastic photos of king parrots as well as superb fairy wrens

2 musems are a must see.
2 musems are a must see. Wood craft museum (opened 2001) and a general mueum that has heaps on display including preserved old operating theatre from Wondai hospital. This museum has been improving since first being opened 40 years ago. FOOD - must sample battered flathead and garlic prawns at the Wondai hotel .... yum !

The town itself is only pretty small and I came from the Sunshine Coast for a garden show here. The main thing I didn't like is the takeaway shops shut before 6 at night, so luckily I had seen this not long beforehand. Dan's Diner was good for breakfast and was only just up the road from my accomadation. The garden show itself was really good and would come back next year for sure.

Wondai is a friendly little town in a scenic location. Ideal stepping stone to many nearby vineyards, dams, museums and heritage centres. Plenty of specialist shops in the area. Several other small towns easily accessible. A great place to stay, to explore the South Burnett area.

The helpful reception by the owners upon arriving, plus the comfort, cleanliness and ease of parking made for a very delightful stay. I highly recommend this establishment as a very comfortable base from which to explore the local area. There is much to do and see in and around Wondai .

Wondai is a great friendly little town which you can use as a central location to do trips out from. There are sufficient facilities and shopping in Wondai and if you get desperate Kingaroy is only 20 minutes away.
