We had a room on the 17th floor and enjoyed the view. The room was a bit dated and the AC was noisy, but the bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the microwave, which not many hotels offer.
The restaurant has a decent selection and the food was good.
The worst aspect of our stay was the wifi, which was almost unusable. It worked about 25% of the time, otherwise wasn't working at all. It seemed to be better in the lobby, so may be an issue specific to our floor.

Lovely, quirky, traditional hotel. Great location 5 mins from Teatro Amazonas. Helpful & friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Some WiFi problems - had to stand in corridor to maintain connection. I was also disappointed to find out that the taxi driver had to pay a 'referral' fee to the hotel, thus inflating our fare. Is this normal in Brazil?

The reason I visited Manaus was to visit the Amazon Rainforest at the end of my trip to Argentina/ Brazil. There is little point visiting Manaus (outside of work / conferences) without visiting the Amazon.

We enjoyed visiting the historic centre of Manaus, especially the tour of the Opera house (can only visit on a guided tour but it was cheap). We adored the lunch that we had at Caxiri (almost worth visiting Manaus alone, and if you are in Manaus for any other reason you should make every effort to go). We used Manaus as a base for doing a day tour into the jungle - the tour was disappointing with regards the wildlife seen (a tarantula and 3 sloths) during a 2.5hour hike - we saw more wildlife on our visit to Sugarloaf mountain in Rio. Wife loved every minute of being in the water with the Amazonian pink dolphins, which was included in our Amazon day trip. Manaus market was disappointing. Uber was an effective way of getting around the city.

We spent a week in Manaus, with a few days south in the Amazon and one day north in Presidente Figueiredo.
I don't think I'd travel here if it weren't for the Amazon. The city can be dangerous as night, and there isn't a lot of tourist areas - other than the theatre - I'd be comfortable being in at night.
That said, the walk from the pier to the theatre is great -- lots of shops and local stands. Restaurants around the Teatro Amazonas are fantastic, and the vibe in square is pretty cool. People are friendly and not too pushy.
The weather is unsurprisingly hot, we had high 30s in the 'winter.' The flight in and out of Manaus was easier than it is flying in other countries (UK and the US for example). Also everything is pretty cheap, especially if you're comfortable going a couple blocks out of the tourist strip.
Highly recommend using it as a base to go on an Amazon tour. We did one day hike and one three-day eco lodge experience - which was the highlight of our two weeks in Brazil.

Manaus is a tropical city in northwest Brazil and very nice to explore the Amazon rainforest. At the point where the Negro River and muddy Solimões River meet, the water do not merge, and it is very intersting view. The city is to dirty, that it was really bad. Could be a better place to stay because the people are really nice.

The hotel is across the street from two excellent restaurants, 150m from a Carrefour and 300m from Manaus's best mall. The renovated rooms on the first floor that face the pool are classified as "deluxe" (which they are not), but the mattresses and showers are adequate, the A/C works and the rooms are close to the pool. The free Wi-Fi worked well.
Leaving the streets of Manaus to enter this oasis is just a dream. The reception smells wonderful and sets the mood as you enter the building to reach your rooms. The staff are wonderful. A boutique luxury experience. Best hotel with this value we stayed at in Brazil.
The check-in was easy and smooth, we arrived at the airport late in the night and we could access to the room easily. Instructions were clear and we didn’t have problems in finding the way to the hotel and to our room.
