The reservation was accepted during a time they don’t do reservations. They later contacted me that it wasn’t available, by that time everything in antigonish was booked up for the event of x ring ceremony. So I had no where to stay.

I did not like the shampoo and conditioners bottles.

I did not like the shampoo and conditioners bottles. Too hard to squeeze. But the room was great. It was clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great. And the people who worked there were very professional and nice.

Antigonish is a pretty little town with many interesting shops and good restaurants. Main Street is very walkable and parking is not a problem. Their library is a jewel in their crown. We visited to take in a play at Bauer Theatre - neat little theatre on the St. Francis Xavier university campus. Enjoyed it thoroughly. There is a great farmer's market on Saturdays with many tasty food stalls as well as works sold by local artisans. There are beautiful beaches within 30 minutes of the town. We could have easily stayed longer if our schedule had allowed.

We were there for meetings but didn't have a lot of time; however, we did explore a few shops where we found very friendly people and unique gifts to take home. Peace by Chocolate and a unique antique/craft store were our favourites.

Antigonish is a quaint and cozy town.

Antigonish is a quaint and cozy town. The people you meet are kind and welcoming. As a university town you will encounter many students amongst your daily travels and they are just as nice as the locals. Friendly faces at every turn. The food scene, with local restaurants and cafes, is incredible - we stayed 5 days and did not have a bad meal! Main St has cute local shops and James St has your staple fast food places - Tim Hortons, McDdonalds, Subway, Pita Pit. All of which are within walking distance of eachother. I love this place.

Antigonish has its own vibe going on.

Antigonish has its own vibe going on. Very friendly, laid back with all the amenities of a big city. I will definitely visit again. Loved the bakery and restaurant attached to the Hotel. Homemade gives comforting feeling on a road trip. If I win the Lottery I will move there. LOL I want to see more on the next visit!

the Claymore is somewhat "dated" but very clean. The pool area was great... hot tub and sauna, in addition to a good-sized pool. The complimentary breakfast vouchers were great and the menu choices were terrific. Loved the restaurant/bakery attached to the hotel!

Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good! Liked that we could bring it back to the room. Could not rate the staff as we never saw him. There was a phone number to call when we got there and our keys were in an envelope in a mailbox.

Breakfast was available on time and the same as most hotels. Quite good. Appreciated fresh fruit. My spouse was very pleased with Dove as the soap and very pleased with the black 'cosmetic cloth'. We've never seen this in a hotel before.
