The Fox has always been such an iconic hotel in Banff ever since its inception.i was really excited to take my daughter so she could experience the cave-like Hot Springs. However, the rooms are quite small and really need an update, considering the cost. The facilities in general are quite dated; old, slow elevator, outdated decor that doesn’t look as clean as one would expect - carpets swiping duet and age.
The staff, were very helpful, receptive, and friendly.
Situated just minutes from the center of Banff, this comfortable inn offers convenient amenities and leisure services within walking distance of many area attractions, parks and ski areas.

Location was great . We liked the free underground parking and the Roam Hop On-Hop Off transit stop was right in front of the hotel. The hotel gave us a free bus pass and we used it! Staff were great.

The whole night the trucks come to nearby buildings and unload cargo, very loud noise and impossible to sleep with this noise.

As someone who has spent a lifetime hiking, skiing, snow shoeing and mountaineering in ranges all over North America I can't overstate how astonishing the Canadian Rockies are. The scale, glacier-carved land forms, and overall grandeur is unmatched. My only regret is that it took me 68 years to make my way there. I will go back, hopefully many more times.
Besides the geography, Banff is as cool as it gets. Tons of excellent dining options. All kinds of shops for tourists and great gear stores for riders and mountaineers.

Banff is heaven on Earth.
Banff is heaven on Earth. My wife and I have travelled quite a bit and we both said this is tied for the best trip we have ever taken, if not the best. Everyone is so customer oriented. The restaurants are great! (Pacini's, Park Distillery, The Grizzly House) Canalta Lodge was perfect. Close to the ski slopes. Crazy wildlife everywhere! I was amazed with everything at ever turn. We will be back!!

Very nice and beautiful town with suprisingly excellent restaurants and shopping. Reasonably priced. Plenty to do in the area. Not too far from Calgary airport. Skiing is fantastic however, very limited accomodations right in ski areas. Parking and traffic getting into the lots can be problematic, especially on weekends.

Wonderful skiing conditions with free buses to the lifts, great variety of restaurants to pick from, great character in town with little shops and great welcoming staff. Always such a treat to view the mountains in all their glory. Lots of other things to do that we did not have time for - gondola (nite time too), walk around town, columbia ice fields, tours outside town, Lake Louise, Fairmont Hotel viewing, hot springs, museum, taste the fresh fudge, bear claws and so much more. So much to do and see anytime of the year. Always love going to see the mountains.

Banff is a happening little town, with easy access to the mountains, but also to daily necessities, such as groceries, a wide variety of restaurants and coffee shops. There was even a small 4-screen movie theater and an Asian grocery store, where I got some instant coffee, since the coffee pods provided by the hotel weren't too good.

Banff Town was lively with many small shops for food and shopping. The town was postcard pretty! Guided tours to Johnston Canyon, Lake Louise, Peyto Lake, Bow Lake, Lake Minnewanka, Two Jacks Lake, Norguay Lookout were available and awesome.
Banff Gondola was likewise wonderful.

We loved our stay at Banff Aspen Lodge (as part of our Honeymoon in April). The complimentary breakfast was great value, we always had a variety of foods to keep us full while skiing (rotating oatmeal, scrambled eggs, bacon, cereal). The location is excellent - easy walking distance to all the restaurants in downtown. April is definitely the time to visit in terms of value for money - there was ample free parking available at the hotel. We loved having a proper barista made coffee at White Bark every day. Spacious shower and double sink.
The hotel is exceptionally lovely and so are all the facilities. The foyer and fireplace are particularly iconic, and we could have sent a long time there. The hot tub area on the roof has stunning views and two large hot tubs as well as a heated (by fire pit) seating area. The hotel is the best located one in Banff, it being just before the start of the shopping area and right near the local transportation.
View from our hotel room was stunning, picture window view over Banff to the snowcapped mountains. Highly recommend taking an upgrade to get a room with the view, it stretched our budget, but definitely worth it.
Room was comfortable and very clean.
The food in the bistro restaurant was excellent, and staff were helpful and friendly (especially Carolina on Reception). The Spa was great also.
