We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Caprice for a few nights while recently exploring Grindelwald.
The room was a decent size and enough for us to spread out what we needed to. It was lovely to get some fresh air on the balcony each day and take in the breathtaking views of the mountains.
Breakfast was a great selection in the morning and was a good start to the day.
Location was excellent, being across the road from the train station and also only a five minute walk into town.
The spa and sauna facilities are 10/10 and I wish we used this area on all days during our stay, not just the last one. I feel like this is a real hidden gem and should be marketed more 🙂
Thank you for upgrading us to the Eiger room, what a wonderful surprise on our trip that was not expected.
The 125-year-old Hotel Gletschergarten with its magnificent mountain and glacier view is personally run by the 4th and 5th generations with a lot of commitment.

Grindelwald lies at more than 1000 metres above sea level, offering top-class ski slopes and an imposing Alpine landscape. It is located in the canton of Bern, in the Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Aletsch is the largest glacier to be found in the Alps.
Although evidence shows humans have been present in the region for thousands of years, the first long-lasting settlements date back to the Middle Age. For a long period, the destiny of the village was attached to the influence of the Interlaken Abbey, until the times of the Protestant Reformation.
Tourist activity begun in the 18th century, bringing new life and wealth to the village. During the second half of the 19th century, roads and railway lines were developed, allowing a constant influx of visitors. The first hotel in Grindelwald was opened in 1888, and by 1914 there were over 30. Check the hotel map of Grindelwald and surroundings to choose the location that best suits your needs.
The village has several railway stations offering regional links. It is 20 km from the city of Interlaken, while Bern Airport is 70 km away. Whether you’re looking for a 5-star hotel, a ski resort, or a cosy ‘gasthaus’, don’t miss the Grindelwald deals available on Booking.com!

Lovely town.
Lovely town. Easy to get to from Zurich airport, and nice to stop off at Lucerne on the way. Very clean and tidy place, and friendly people. Good bars (Avacado etc) but nowhere near as lively for apres as the Austrian towns that we've been to. Good ski slopes and ski lifts. Good bus service for getting to and from the slopes. Good for other things to do if the cloud is down and you're unable to ski. Beer prices and food is on the more expensive side, but OK. Wine is very expensive. We liked Barrys restaurant for the Fondu and Mongolian BBQ (discount on a Sunday night) and Onkel Tom's Hütte for pizza and pasta

Such a cute mountain village!
Such a cute mountain village! Easily walkable and with great food and jaw-dropping views of the Alps. Skiing was fantastic with nice trails and great views. Train and bus stations were very convenient. Dinner at the Central Hotel Wolter and a cute little German restaurant on the main street were excellent. Drop in to the Avocado Bar for a drink!

Grindelwald being part of the Jungfrau Region is as amazing as the Jungfrau Region itself.
It offers good Hotels and Apartments, good infrastructure with Buses, Trains, Lifts, Restaurants, Shopping Center, Sportzentrum, Financial Services, Pharmacies, Post and much more.
It doesn't matter if you travel there in winter or summer, it always has something to offer.

Grindelwald has spectacular scenary, literally breathtaking.
Grindelwald has spectacular scenary, literally breathtaking. Resort has a nice charm , although is very busy in the village with day visitors . Ski slopes however are not too busy and lines are generally short . Supermarket is very good . Bus and train service excellent. Slopes on Murren side are steep, even blues would be tricky for beginners. Firstbahn slopes are sunny and good for beginners, families and those wanting a relaxed day’s skiing. Take the train up to Klein Schendig at least once it’s beautiful, other days take Eiger Express its quick. We travelled by train from Zürich to Lucern and then on to Interlaken on the Panoramic express, finally the train up to Grindelwald, the journey was a highlight of our trip.

There is a lot of Hype about Grindelwald.
There is a lot of Hype about Grindelwald. The village is pretty and of course you have the 3 giants to admire. There are a lot of activities available. My opinion, it’s not the prettiest place, it’s expensive and very crowded with tourists from afar…. The country men and women are inclined to go for the day., and I felt it has lost its quaint Swissness.
Grindelwalds is easy to get to with a large car park if your hotel doesn’t provide parking. Excellent Rezent Fondue in Hotel Hirschen but reserve your table Guest or not.

The hotel is located in Grindelwald's main road, 7min from the main station and around 10-15min from restaurants and a market. It is also located 20min by foot from Grindelwald Terminal where we could take the cable car to Jungfrau. The staff was super kind and helpful and the breakfast buffet was delicious. They also have a transportation option to the train station for when you have lugagge and don't want to go up the hill with it. Also, the room had a spectacular view of the Eiger!
This hotel is under another 5 star hotel Bergwelt Grindelwald. Get to enjoy their facilities included the breakfast buffet every morning. The breakfast selection is remarkable and delicious. The swimming pool and steam bath is another highlight too. The room in hotel pinte is new and clean. Nothing to complain about. The staff also very friendly and try to help as they can. Told them it was our honeymoon trip. They even prepare some sweets for us. So sweet!
Comfortable room and bed. Of four hotels I stayed in and notified I was vegan, this was the only one to reply and they brought in soya yoghurt and milk especially and there was dairy free spread anyway. This made breakfast more balanced for me. The views from our room and the breakfast bar are stunning. There is traffic noise, but you would get that in most places in Grindelwald and it was quiet by later evening anyway so it isn't a problem
The staff was friendly, and I think we were greeted by the owner. They explained the hotel to us in detail. We felt welcomed. Although we almost passed out walking up to the hotel with our luggages, the view from our room with the balcony was totally worth it. Great breakfast, we enjoyed it very much. If I bring my family to visit Grindelwald again, I will consider booking this hotel again.
The hotel is right in the village and has nice views with proximity to all amenities and train station. Grindelwald still keeps an Alpine village charm which is unique.
