Awaken to fabulous views of a fairy-tale castle, a lovely lake and magnificent mountains. Scenic splendour fit for a king!

I must say that the staff is very friendly- not in an overly promotional way, but as genuinely nice people. They give you enough space, yet are always helpful when you need them. I wanted to cancel my stay due to illness, which could not be issued, but despite my condition, it turned out to be one of my best holidays. Thank you all again!
One amazing aspect was the breakfast; it was very tasty and offered great value for the money we paid. Overall, I am satisfied and would definitely recommend it.

Spiez is a small town, conveniently situated for railway access in the area.
A couple of grocery stores (closed on Sundays), Coop and Migros.
Situated lakeside surrounded by mountains, very picturesque.

Spiez is a hidden gem town, very very central just like interlaken. I find spiez less touristy, more cosy and quiet & very convenient to go for all sorts of day trips to most of Swiss. Spiez sits on a right spot where the lake and mountain backdrop makes it for a postcard perfect views.

Spiez is a beautiful town and nicely situated on Lake Thun.
Spiez is a beautiful town and nicely situated on Lake Thun. It is less commercialized than Interlaken (which we liked) but is centrally located to take day trips to other locations. Interlaken was a 10 minute train ride from Spiez. The castle grounds are nice to check out and the lake itself is amazing.

Spiez is very accessible by train - it is beautifully set on a bay on Lake Thun, with a good castle as a bonus feature. There are many local excursions and excellent walks available, including lake trips. Water sports and lake bathing are popular. Longer rail trips are possible to a number of destinations - Zermatt, Gstaad, Interlaken and Montreux.
As small town, not too many shops or services, but probably enough to meet most needs. Similarly night life and bars mean a trip to nearby Interlaken - but good late train services make this possible.

Little and quiet village just on the shore of the lake.
Little and quiet village just on the shore of the lake.
Honestly around the area there are better villages.
Spiez hasn't a real city centre.
Anyway it is in a good position for reaching all the attractions in the area around,

It is such a good centre and very beautiful.
It is such a good centre and very beautiful. We know it well and have spent a holiday there for the past 50 years. We ate well in Bella Vista ,in Elio's Riviera and in the Baren restaurant at Reichenbach
The only bad thing was the constant noise blasted from an amusement area beside the swimming pool

Myself and wife love the location of the apartment especially the balcony that facing the lake. The apartment is very close to the Spiez station and the only problem is the signage of the apartment is very small and printed on the window of the restaurant (We are struggling to locate it in the beginning). The restaurant's name should be mentioned. But once you find it, it is very easy to locate as it is on the main road. The apartment is one of the my best rated apartments from 4 apartments during my 11 nights stay in Switzerland.
Spiez is such a great place for relaxing especially during Christmas time. Nice and cozy room, and luckily with a balcony so that we can even admire the view of the peak of the mountain when the weather is fine. Also the dinner itself and the view of its bistro is brilliant. Everyone in the hotel is so friendly and willing to help. There are not so many tourists as it was in Interlaken or Grindelwald, so we can enjoy the quiet and peaceful nature. Will definitely recommend to my friends. And maybe will be back in summer:-)
Best location! Very friendly staff! comfortable bed and beautiful room with different decoration related to art. The hotel is full of the kindness and love of life of the owners. I would love to go back if I have the chance. The price is reasonable. Breakfast is not buffet but the lady prepared undeserved very well.
Room was bigger than in most hotels with a partial view of the lake. A washing machine is available for guests to use for a small fee which was very welcome. Breakfast had a wide selection
Lovely hotel and facilities. Nice gardens. Heated outdoor pool. Staff generally friendly -- excellent bar staff. Hotel has everything it needs to succeed as a high-end venue, but...
