But will be quite a walk to Zermatt gondola station to Matterhorn.
Room can catch a glimpse of matterhorn if weather is fine.

I would 100% stay here again. Travelling from Canada so making our money stretch was important.
Great value, super clean and spacious rooms! It's right beside the Gornergrat tram and the bus stop (free) to the other lifts is just outside and a quick 5 min ride. They're close to Bayard where we rented and got 10% off with them. Having a hotel right by the train station was super convenient and Zermatt is such a small town so very easy to explore. Sauna (by reservation, just ask front desk) at the end of a ski day was a nice bonus. Good variety for breakfast.

I really Like the area, the town, the activities on offer, the selection of Hotels, restaurants, bars and of course shopping. We enjoyed the Gornergrat Train ride and sledge runs. We profited from the local wines, tasting many of the traditional Suisse foods, on offer, and then some not so Swiss, like excellent sushi on offer.

The town needs to focus more on getting dog poo cleaned up. It was EVERYWHERE! We do NOT want that on our hike boots or ski boots!
Sitting outside at some of the cafes would have been nice but there were too many smokers and vapers. ugh...very unhealthy.

Zermatt is great but the chaos with the cancelled trains to Tasch on March 25 (4+ hours waiting without any information for the buses and totally passive and unresponsive sbb staff) was a big disappointment.

Loved Zermatt especially the older parts of town. Did a well-prepared walking trail down part of Gornergrat. Good choice of restaurants in town but we should have booked in advance. The train ride to and from was stunning!

Zermatt did not disappoint!
Zermatt did not disappoint! The town is pretty and very walkable. The ski area is huge and the view is spectacular. Snow condition/quality might not be the best, but since all non-yellow pistes are groomed, the skiing was good. The ability to ski into Italy when weather allows is also a plus. Pistes are in general not as challenging as those in the States but that works well for an intermediate skier like me. Zermatt ski area is also very non-skier friendly with the sophisticated transit system to move skiers as well as walkers up and between the mountains.

Easy to get around town, as there was snow on the ground (except on the slopes). Beautiful scenery. Not inexpensive to eat out, but quality of food was good. The Swiss Chalet was particularly friendly.

The room had a great view which allowed us to see the Matterhorn as well as nearby mountains. The check-in staff ( Karen)
was responsible for upgrading our room so that we had such visibility from our balcony. Karen also accommodated us by keeping our luggage since we arrived early.
We travelled to 5 cities in Switzerland as a party of 4. We all agreed that our stay in Zermatt at Hotel Arcxa Soilebad & Spa was our favorite!
The atmosphere is amazing, mostly young people that came to ski or explore Zermatt and the mountains. Also, value for money is great, this was one of the cheapest hostels I've seen in Switzerland and also got breakfast included in the price. Breakfast was amazing. The view from my window was to Klein Matterhorn, the best. Also, the receptionist is very kind and helpful.
Everything except for the room is a little too small but the view of Matterhorn from the room beats it. The hotel manager is very personal and friendly, the breakfast is one of the best that we had in Switzerland.
