It’s a very quiet & beautiful little Swiss town that has everything you need for comfort and distance wise very reachable: restaurants, gyms, bars, commute, shops, etc. it’s especially known for amazing lakes, stalactite caves, wild green nature around, parks- incl a bird park by the lake and other peaceful poetic sights. The tax heaven on Switzerland. Quiet nice place to live. For tourism? Give me a break, it's country side. Outdoor activities, walking and enjoying big lake (Zugersee). But not really a tourist place. Zug is very nice and amazing city, located at the beautiful lake Zugersee. I recommend following restaurants: Chez Ladur, Juanitos, Puccini, Zeno's and Sihlmatt in Menzingen. The sunset on a clear summer night as one wound look across the water to the alps is among the most beautiful in the world. This is my birthplace, a tax haven and therefore full of foreign companies who have their postboxes and offices here. You hear more English than Swiss German, but it still has a very Swiss feel about it. Lovely location on the lake, with a small old town, some excellent shops, 2 or 3 nice cafes (one where Audrey Hepburn used to eat Zuger Kirschtorte), and fantastic views onto the Rigi and beyond - the Alps. Lots of opportunities to take walks through fields and forests, go for swims in the lake, excellent public transport. Easy and quick to reach Lucerne, Zurich, Schwyz etc. You can also take the bus up to Unter- and Oberägeri, with a smaller, but very attractive lake, and lovely views over Lake Zug on the way.Guest review byIsabelleUnited Kingdom
