Featuring garden views, Hostal Apuwara in Combarbalá offers accommodation, a garden and a shared lounge. This bed and breakfast features free private parking and a 24-hour front desk.

The location is great. Just a few blocks from the town square. The local area felt safe. Parking is secure behind closed (not locked) gates, though I was slightly upset I was not allowed to park our motorcycles next to the room, as this was better served for a car. The sound of the budgies and other wild birds was nice. The staff were very pleasant, though we obviously failed to communicate well - even with Google Translate.

Combarbalá is a very small yet extremely charming town, tucked away from the mainstream. The locals are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the stay especially pleasant. A definite highlight is the observatory, which we highly recommend to anyone visiting. You get the chance to look at the stars yourself through the telescopes, not just watch the scientists work. A unique experience that opens up a glimpse into the vastness of the universe!

We needed a place to stay in between travelling from Santiago to further up north, and this was perfect, as I could not find other places as comfortable along ruta 5. Just be mindful it´s not very close to ruta 5, I think it takes another hour or so from Ruta 5 to get to the location. It seems nice for star gazing, as there is very little light pollution, but we did not have the chance to do this as we only stayed the night and left early morning after breakfast, which was simple but very satisfying.
