Awesome location in a nature reserve! Very close to wildlife and beautiful scenery. Staff were beyond helpful and lovely to talk to (in Spanish AND English)! Food was also really good and reasonably priced.

Wonderful staff, especially Honey! So helpful and kind! Decent enough breakfast- perhaps some more options for people with allergies would be helpful! Could hear our neighbours in the cabin next door through the night and early morning so didn’t always sleep well. Beautiful, clean accommodation in an excellent location. Overall definitely worth a stay!

It was such an amazing experience. The place is surrounded by the most beautiful view, birds and nature. Staff is very kind and helpful. Everything was perfect, exept it’s a bit far from city center. I definitely recommend :)

Wow, I've seen many places but none like this. This hotel is very remote and difficult to get to but it is worth the trouble. I've traveled to 45 different countries but have never seen a more beautiful sunset view than this one. Here you'll see a wide open view of the Sierra Nevada valley, many different species of birds and hear howler monkeys in the morning. This is a locally owned hotel by a very sweet, loving family. They will do everything to help you feel comfortable here. If you're looking for peace and tranquility, this is the place.

El Santuario was the perfect home base for exploring Minca! Nora and José Luis have obviously put a lot of love into their hotel- they were exceptionally kind and provided us with everything we needed during our stay. We split three rooms between 5 friends, which was totally comfortable for us. We started every morning taking in the stunning views while enjoying a delicious home cooked breakfast- the birdwatching is unparalleled to any place I’ve visited before! It’s a quick 10 minute drive to the center of Minca- we had a car, but the hotel will happily arrange a mototaxi for you, which I took advantage of as i chose to stay an extra night after my travel mates departed. We ended our evenings using the ample common areas to sip tequila and reflect on our adventures. The evenings were cool enough that we wouldn’t have used a/c even if it was available. Of course there are some bugs, but what else would you expect staying in a rustic town in the middle of the jungle?? Other reviewers noting this as a con are obviously unused to accommodations that strive to be as ecologically mindful as possible to their natural environments. Thank you José Luis and Nora for everything! Much love to you and your beautiful family. We can’t wait to return <3

Beautiful location- lovely gardens, plants, a river nearby, quiet at night, no traffic nearby. A peaceful well-managed oasis. The staff are so helpful, friendly and accommodating- they prioritize your comfort and will do everything they can to give you a pleasant stay. Good food! And the room was spacious, clean, and good value. We loved our relaxing stay here. Wifi worked well in the rooms facing the pool area and in the restaurant.
