Honestly, meh. The location is great, but the rest is lacking big time. The places around seem to care about the customers much more. The shower is barely a trickle, electricity went off for a while, water bottles in the room are extra .. Dinner was unavailable - had to go to a place nearby. And the guys don't seem to care - left before 7pm. Disappointing experience overall

The room I paid for was not the room that I received. After checkout I re looked at my booking and noticed my room was not what I paid for.
I paid for the Suite at 350,000 pesos and was given the Queen with sea view valued at, 250,000 pesos. I would like the 100,000 peso difference returned to my card ASAP.

Our stay at Hotel Playa Scondida was the highlight of the trip my friends and I took to Colombia. I cannot say enough about how wonderful and attentive the staff were - a huge shoutout to Lucrecia, Sergio Fernando, and Paula who were all so helpful during our stay. The hotel feels like an oasis with a beautiful garden, small beach, and gorgeous pool surrounded by mangroves and greenery. The property is quite small, so there aren't a lot of other guests, and there are lots of places to find a quiet corner and relax. Breakfast every morning was delicious, excellent coffee, and the kitchen prepares fresh seafood and amazing drinks. Overall, it was a relaxing, peaceful place to spend a few days.

I liked the location because it was super close to not having floating devices everywhere in the water which makes for bad pictures. Also they take care of you 24/7 which made me feel safe.

I will start with the positive; as many have mentioned, the staff were very correct, polite and you could see they were trying their best.
I was happy with the location, I specifically chose Cristal Blue because of this, it’s far from the super busy area and I appreciated that the most.
The downstairs, reception - “restaurant” and beach front was in my opinion the most enjoyable from the whole building.
The rooms are basic at best and don’t look in reality as nice as in the pictures.
The first two nights we stayed at a back room with no ocean view, also this room had no wifi reception and the shower was terrible and broken down. We complained about it and we were moved to a front room with a sea view which was much nicer and had wifi connectivity.
There is another place 2 buildings down the beach that looked way nicer and I found myself wishing I had booked there instead.

It was in front of the beach. You could easily see the beach and feel so free. The lady that works there is so kind and friendly, it’s like having a private chef and great company. I would definitely go back because of her.

You can’t beat the price & the beach is beautiful. The people were great & friendly. However I would bring mosquito spray & ear plugs bc if you get the room next to a generator it will drive you crazy.
The best room is with the balcony so you could enjoy the sound of the waves & beautiful view, it’s definitely worth the extra money. Food & drinks were good. Take the taxi & boat suggested.

Baru is not a lonely remote place where you will enjoy peace and quiet. Hotels and lodges are literally next to each other. There are many people. When swimming, be careful of boats and jet skis that drive here and there very close to the shore. But the sun and the sea make all that unimportant. There are also various excursion options.

Wow this location is AMAZING.
Wow this location is AMAZING. Truly it was a private beach all to ourselves… only one other couple there on our first night. The property only has 4 rooms total so you’re never going to have a bunch of people there. The staff were SO accommodating and patient with our lack of ability to speak Spanish. We only speak English, staff only spoke English but they always used translation making it very easy to communicate! I saw other reviews complaining about the food being overpriced and no hot water for the shower which seems silly to me after now experiencing how remote this place is! It was my toddlers first travel experience, and I was SO happy with the comfort Carey House offered. Is it a luxury hotel, no. But does it have everything you need on a remote beach location with PERFECT Carribean swimming and the best staff ever? Yes. We will be coming back!

The only way to get from the arrival area to your hotel is to walk along the beach with your luggage or by boat. When the seas are ruff and there are no boats you must carry your luggage through the sand and water. Depending where your hotel is, that could be a mile. There is one tiny bodega on the beach to buy soda and beer and not much else. It’s best for a short stay.

Horrible place, instead of the sea breeze you'll enjoy exhaust from the dozens of motorboats and scooters cruising everywhere without any rules. They make a horrible noise all over the day, combined with loud music from each bar it caused a headache. Food and drinks are extremely expensive, we got poisoned by some food there being sick for 3 days.
Trash is everywhere behind the beach line.

Everything!!! Our stay at the hotel was worth every minute, from the boat ride from the dock to our return. The rooms are super spacious and comfortable, the staff is super friendly, the food is very typical and delicious. If you are looking for a place to really disconnect, relax in front of the beach and enjoy the advantages of being on an island, Islas del Encanto is the place.
Many thabks to Dennise, Christian, Alicia, Martin and Lore for your outstanding service.
I was looking for a property that was off the beaten tracks on Isla Baru and Casa Cordaba Baru is exactly this. The forthcoming and friendly staff combined with a very relaxed and quiet athmosphere in an very well maintained property is a perfect hideaway for those that dont need or want to escape the buzz.
The hotel met all of our expectations, delivering exactly what we were looking for. The staff were exceptionally nice, helpful, and genuinely committed to making our experience the best it could be.
