A wonderful place! ... Really "in the sky", all around only nature, no view of houses. Very good for birdwatching, toucans come by daily and hummingbirds are everywhere. There is an observation platform. You can see the volcano and Lake Arenal from everywhere on the property and the many armchairs grouped around the house. The people from the agency are very friendly and helpful. We missed some things in the kitchen and bedside lamps, everything was done immediately. You have to know that there are three units on the property. In addition to the large house with four bedrooms (which we rented), there is a (very) small unit in a kind of garden house for 2 people and another house with 2 bedrooms.

Lost Iguana Resort and Spa offers an outdoor pool, a gym and lush gardens with a maze. Each room has views of the Arenal Volcano, located just a 25-minute drive away.

The property was so unreal! We loved this. Waking up to the volcano view in the morning was honestly breathtaking. The pools, one being warm and one being cool was such a good touch! Also as the property is pretty much on a hill, the idea they have of having a buggy service to you can call to take you to and from your hotel room was perfect as the hills are rather steep!

Lovely cabins in beautifully kept surroundings. Very comfy beds with good quality linen. Wonderful view of the volcano, despite rain and cloud. Very nice young man at reception. Nice breakfast. Animal trail on the property.

It is in a beautiful location. The accomodation is basic but has everything you need. If you want WiFi and TV it’s not for you. But the views and being in the clouds more than makes up for that. The food is really nice and the people who own and run this are lovely. We enjoyed our stay here immensely.

Great views of the volcano and excellent breakfast and service by the staff. The rooms could use a refurb. Also, there were hundreds of ants around the toilet in the morning which was not ideal.

Unbelievable views of the volcano and lake. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable with a good balcony but a fridge would have made a big difference. There were tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The pool was lovely and it was very special to sit in the hot tub watching the sunset over those spectacular views. The restaurant/bar was good although we only ate there once. El Castillo is a great village with good mini markets and restaurants. The most fantastic place we ate in was called Ventanita at the top of the hill, so quite a climb, but absolutely worth it. We also visited the butterfly conservation centre which was excellent and we also went hiking at the Arenal Observatory Lodge and saw lots of wildlife and spent half a day at Eco Termales hot springs which was fabulous (outstanding lunch!) You do need a car here.

The individual cabins at Hotel Lomas del Volcan are a excellent! The design perfectly blends with the natural surroundings, and the comfort level is superb. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches and the cleanliness maintained by the wonderful staff. They were so kind and always ensured I had everything I needed. And let's not forget the star of the show – the views of the Arenal Volcano. Whether from the private balcony or even from the jacuzzi in some cabins, the vista was simply awe-inspiring.
