The Nomadic Hotel sets a new standard for hostel dorm stays. Unlike any other hostel I’ve been to, this one feels upscale yet effortlessly laid-back. The dorms are spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully designed, making it easy to relax. But the real standout? The staff. Warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, they go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Whether it’s local tips or just good vibes, Thony and Mariela make the experience exceptional. If you’re looking for a hostel that doesn’t feel like one—this is it.

Nosara is apparently one of the most expensive places in Central America, more expensive than the rest of Costa Rica, and the vibe is a bit weird - lots of wealthy travelers, $9 drip coffee, middle-aged white people mostly and lots of second-home mansions. We went to yoga at a resort that was $600/night and that seemed like no big deal for most of the American clients. However once we got to know the locals, learned to eat at local "sodas" instead, and realized the beach break is fantastic for surfing and protected so there's no beach vendors or beach bars, we had a great time. It's not a backpackers town, but it is very safe.

Choose accomodation carefully as the area is quite large and spread out. Not as devloped as other places along the coast.
Beaches are amazing and quieter than Tarmarindo or Samara beaches. Bring ypur own. Loungers and beach umbrellas, as limited availability. Also not too many places serving refreshments So bring your own.

It was extremely quiet in low season.
It was extremely quiet in low season. The roads to Playa Guiones and Playa Pelada, in downtown Nosara, were very challenging even with a 4x4. We can only imagine how difficult it is to drive and park in the high season. All the locals did not encourage us to walk the beach at night and advised us to watch our belongings everywhere. The yoga was great at Bodhi Tree and turtle hatching at Ostonial very moving. We much preferred the beaches of Samara (Samara Beach at the great spot of Bahia Beachfront Restaurant as well as the quiet and coco tree lined Playa Carillo), of course if you are in mood to drive on the gravel roads to Samara.

The town is very charming with lots of both local, mid range and upscale restaurants. The problem is with the roads. We drove 2 1/2 hours from Playa flamingo down the coast and fully half of that time was on rutted dirt roads. The town itself had ro ases that were worse than rutted with giant potholes sometimes two or 3 feet deep. It made us wish we had a four-wheel-drive which many of the locals drive. They called them quads, which are four wheeled ATVs. We were there in dry season so I can only imagine what happens to the roads in the rainy season. It would not be a pretty sight.

Costa Rica is a very special country, but what I like best of all in Nosara (Guiones/Pelada) are the people. Both Ticos (Costa Ricans) and expats are among the friendliest, most genuinely helpful and generous, and most laid back folks anywhere. And it is the gorgeous natural beauty and tranquility of this place that must be the cause.

Nosara is a small town and the area is not very developed.
Nosara is a small town and the area is not very developed. Driving was somewhat terrifying (more so than the zip lining, to be sure). The nature there is beautiful and preserved. I would recommend staying at a nice resort if you want to go there. There are several and this would have made our experience much better. Since we had a kitchen, we used the grocery store often. It had great products, but was not air conditioned.

Amazing experience! The location is perfect, and the facilities are spotless and beautifully designed. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive, especially Mariela, who truly made my stay exceptional, all the people who work there are unique thanks to Anthony , Levi, Silvi y Julia , kim , Cristel and Saúl.
As a suggestion, I’d recommend adding a bit more music in common areas to enhance the ambiance and offering more yoga or animal flow classes at the hotel.
Overall, an outstanding stay—I can’t wait to come back!
Great location in South Guiones close to the store, ATM, cafe, shops and the beach. Amazing vibe as the property is in a garden giving it a real jungle feeling. Well-equipped with a fridge, cutlery and microwave in the room, room is nice and spacious. Staff was really helpful and polite. Had warm water in the shower which is super rare in Costa Rica. Breakfast included was great if you like gallo pinto (which I do :) )
Lovely ground floor rooms for our family of 5, located near the pool. Both clean and attractive with comfy chairs on the terrace outside. The pool area was beautiful and felt like a little oasis. Breakfasts were excellent and the evening meals very good too. Brian on reception organised surfing lessons with Nosara Surf School for our 3 teenagers which was a huge success. All in all, an excellent 2 night stay.
Small cocoon in the middle of Nosara, will all accommodation possible. The place is perfect for short as well as long stay. Henry is a perfect Host who takes care of everybody and easily accessible. We spend a great time at the Casa Rosada.
There are a lot of mosquitos everywhere, and it is not possible to sit outside. There are no yoga classes at the hotel as it im mentioned in the hotel description.
