Doug is a very nice host. The cabin was in the trees, in a beautiful landscape, and I could hear and see frogs, parrots, and other birds.

Everything is perfect here. The rooms are well appointed with quality bathroom fixtures and there is also a fully equipped kitchenette. As the hotel is new, everything is in outstanding condition. In addition the staff are excellent, nothing too much trouble to deal with for you. Excellent value for money.

Authentic boutique hotel perched high in the hills of Ochojal with breathtaking views over the wild ocean. All staff were terrific and helpful and positive - clearly a well-run operation. Lovely breakfast with abundant delicious fruit accompanied by toucans in the trees of the hotel grounds and resident iguanas.
Our room was huge with a lounge area and loved having both balcony windows open to let the breeze flow through when the daytime heat soared. Beautiful pool big enough for lengths and lounging. Glad we chose El Castillo over Hotel 360 nearby which we visited and was soulless and corporate.
Clearly a little bit of investment is needed to upgrade fixtures and fittings at El Castillo as some of the furniture and bathrooms are a little dated - but it’s a gem.

The property was beautiful. A small, intimate property where we got to watch monkeys in the palm trees and the ocean from our bed. It was wonderful. The food was great - the restaurant served a great selection and breakfast was perfect. Eddie was a star on reception and in the restaurant. It couldn’t have been better.

Everything. The grounds are lovely with casitas situated along garden paths and streams. There are also rooms around the pool that provide more options. The breakfast was delicious. The staff extremely helpul and nice. We enjoyed using the pool after the beach. There's a number of good restaurants nearby. We really loved being there and will definitely be back!

Ojochal is quiet but very close to the larger beach town, Uvita, where we enjoyed an exciting whale watch and the Whale's Tail beach. Some beaches are just 10 minutes away—-beautiful, with pretty sand, just-right waves, and cute little hermit crabs. There are many, many delicous and inventive restaurants--especially Heliconia, Restaurant La Pala, and the Soda Ojoche. The people are extremely nice and helpful. We would go back there.

It has a small collection of restaurants and shops. It's most helpful to use a car or motorcycle to travel the area. It has mostly unpaved, winding roads with numerous steep inclines/declines.

Ojochal is a great base location to explore the Uvita area beaches and the Sierpe mangroves to the south. Lots of area waterfalls, beaches, attractions, and restaurants. True Costa Rican rainforest and animals along with world class beaches and waterfalls make it the best of everything Costa Rica offers.

Go and watch the fish being unloaded at the “Fish Shop” sign just below Paraiso Azul - birds up close and a range of fish.
It’s only a 40 min drive, on a good road, to Sierpe for a 3 hour river trip - loads of wildlife. Completely recommended

This town is one of the most peaceful and beautiful that we’ve visited in Costa Rica. It also has great restaurants and really nice people. Nice for a couple with no children for a little R&R and great food.
Best food in CR. Sud is great if you want great food and live music or dance lessons (not sure which nights). Other restaurants we loved included Heliconia, Fusion, Kua Kua for the stunning view, Terraba and Mamma e Papa.
Go to Playa Tortuga for a long walk or mellow beach visit and to see the scarlet macaws. Visit Playa Ventanas - more families, people playing, vendors, music. Far more lively than Tortuga.

This is a must stay! The view from the hotel is absolutely stunning! The rooms were spotless clean, breakfast and dinner always tasty. But the best part is the staff and the management: they all were super friendly and helpful! It was so nice to see how the whole team interacted with each othet, it felt like a big family working together, having fun and helping out when needed!
On top of everything we got a free room upgrade!
Valérie and Eric are extremely friendly and caring hosts. And, obviously, they love their Natura Lodge that they have build in Ojochal. It is so well maintained, so pretty, so clean. The wooden villas as well as the gorgeous garden. One of the places we would really like to return to. Thanks for hosting us!
Breakfast was OK, but nothing special. Fruit, regular white toast, eggs, rice, and beans. The grounds of the hotel were really nice. You are surrounded by nature with a creek nearby. The pool was small but the pool area was nice to spend time in.
Breakfast was very good and was possible to see macaws, monkeys and more animals from the hotel and really close
Swimming pool was clean and with very good views.
Room is big and confortable
Owner and his family are very polite and good people
Excellent view, great breakfast, and super friendly staff. Dave and Rebecca were very gracious my entire stay and were very helpful for suggestions of things to do in the area. Will be back for sure!!
