My experience was great with the female receptionist at check in; until I dealt with the male receptionist... I got a room for me and my mother with 1 double bed and a twin bed, so I asked him how much more I had to pay for an additional person. He had no right to respond to me the way he did. He got up from his chair in a face-off manner and said, "IT IS ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED TO DO THAT!!!, YOU'LL BE KICKED OUT IF YOU DO THAT!* threateningly.
I said I'm sorry, I'm just asking a question, and there is no need to respond this way. I asked because the room has one double need and one single bed*. He just said, "YES, BUT THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE. IT'S PROHIBITED.*
I said, "ok, that's enough, just give me another room, and additional room, and let's be done with this*. He said, "really? WELL THAT'S $120 For the room. I said ok, weird that it's more than what I paid for mine; but whatever, my cousin was already on her way.
I didn't cancel just because it was non refundable.
Besides that, the common grounds were well-kept. The rooms are outdated, but ok for 1 night, the beds need to be updated, or at least the mattresses it is very loud, so maybe update the windows to double-pane.
The location is great, it is across the street from the beach, next to many bars, shops and restaurants.

The personal patios with hammock/tables were nice. Shady spots and sunny spots by pool. Pool/green are more dated and unkept then photos but that's understandable

La Palapa is a fantastic location. Walk out onto Tamarindo Beach. We went during spring break so price was higher than any other time. Staff is absolutely wonderful and accommodating! Rolando helped make our stay perfect. Our room was #3 (closest to the beach and the loft layout that had a king size bed on main floor and a full size in the loft.) Small refrigerator/ microwave. Air-conditioning worked well along with ceiling fans. We did not have the included breakfast but just a few steps from the hotel is Buon Appetito (really good prices, cappuccino/coffee and breakfast...lunches too). The attached restaurant at the hotel is separate and seemed a bit pricey. Again, it is separate (not owned?) by the hotel. Hammocks/lounge chairs available for free as guests. There are so many restaurants and small shops surrounding the hotel! Loved our stay!
Hotel Arco Iris offers an outdoor pool, lush tropical gardens and charming air-conditioned accommodation, just 1700 ft from Tamarindo Beach.

Breakfast was exceptional, perfectly sized pool, strong A/C, 5 minutes walking from city center and beach, and the staff were eager to help you with anything you need. I am a "type A" planner, and I always worry about booking travel and accommodations. With this one you don't need to worry about anything! I can't say enough about this small hotel. There was nothing lacking and I loved all the hammocks, bamboo designs and the house iguana. Truly felt like you were in Costa Rica and not another standard hotel.

Generally quiet, even next to the highway. We were greeted by the owner's two teenage sons. Clearly managers in training.
The kitchen beside the pool was well equipped for our breakfast of cold cereal. There is a hot plate and BBQ which we did not try out.
Both beds were pushed against the walls. We were able to move the double bed away from the wall and use the side chair so both sides of the bed could have a bedside table of sorts.
Towels are thick, soft.and absorbant. Shower is slow to heat but then warm.

We loved the pool area and the wonderful staff took great care of us. We utilized the shuttle to town for dinner a few times but found the food at the resort to be better.

While in Tamarindo we went to the Thursday Night Market.
While in Tamarindo we went to the Thursday Night Market. It was a lively market with local crafters . There was an opportunity to purchase some local dishes and listen to music. No seating, just walking about.
We also went on a snorkel trip with Pacific Coast Dive Center. They combine dive and snorkel. The staff was excellent. Very attentive, safety conscious and wanting you to have fun! We got to see white tipped sharks, a humongous Manta Ray and a green sea turtle.

weather was too hot for us.
weather was too hot for us. We preferred weather in San Jose area - Central Valley, and the town was a little too touristy for our liking. We were looking for a more natural feel. This leads to prices being quite high, relative to some other parts of the country.

There are so many very nice places to eat.
There are so many very nice places to eat. We enjoyed the Saturday farmers market and music. The night life is fun and safe. If you surf, you came to the right place and if you don't you can learn how on the beach. You will find live music and other entertainment all over the town. We walked every where, and met many very nice locals. There are buses the run to the airport in Liberia for $4.00 per person.

Very Americanized, a lot of restaurants and stores. Highly recommend to go to ‘Breaking Bread’ bakery.
They have great coffee and amazing baked goods
Getting around is pretty easy, and convenient.
The locals are the nicest with everything.
However I do recommend to stay somewhere else more quiet and then just to drive to Tamarindo to visit

The beach is very nice.
The beach is very nice. The night life is busy and the dining options are many. There is not much to do besides learning surfing and eating. The town is small and in 4-5 days you done it all there. Too many self imposed parking hustlers. Overall a nice town with a very busy night life.

This hotel deserves at least to be a 4-star hotel. The rooms have everything you can need. The hotel is really modern and clean, the view from all their rooms is amazing, watching the sunset from their infinity pool is breathtaking. Even the breakfast in the restaurant has a great view. In addition, the access to the beach club is amazing! As for the staff, they are really welcoming and nice. Knowing it's our honeymoon, they gave us extra as a gift. Loved Wyndham and would definitely stay there again if we go back to Tamarindo!
I was very pleased with the location along the main drag just minutes away from Tamarindo Beach and town.. I was so impressed with the hospitality and attention from the owner of this hotel.
Safe wise, there was no issue at all. Very safe place to stay.
The suite I stayed had all one can ask for immaculate cleanness, a big comfortable bad, full kitchen and beautiful decor .
Definitely, this is a hotel. I'll stay in next time I visit Tamarindo.
It was a beautiful property in lovely setting surrounded by well kept gardens. A great swimming pool and nice outdoor area under cover if it rained. The breakfasts were amazing and freshly made for us. The staff were so friendly and really appreciated the use of a washing machine as first one in Costa Rica without having to find a laundry. 5 minute walk to supermarket and a bit further to shops.
Everything was perfect! The owners, commodities, the room, the pool, the location! Breakfasts were absolutely delicious!
They offers lots of activities. I would definitely recommend the massage near the pool! They even have a cute cat always looking for a cuddle. We will for sure be back in Boho on our next trip to Costa Rica! 🌞
Excellent oasis of calm in which to relax not far from the centre of Tamarindo. Easy walk to the beach and restaurants. Marie was really helpful and very friendly. Rooms were great best shower we had in Costa Rica. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely recommend to anyone visting Tamarindo.
