The location is perfect for exploring Santo Antão’s incredible hiking trails, and the hosts were amazing—so welcoming and helpful with tips on what to do and where to eat.
It’s peaceful, beautiful, and feels like home. If you’re heading to Paul, this is the place to stay. Can’t recommend it enough!

The family running the hotel were so wonderful- they were smiley and helpful, helping us to book taxis, giving us advice about hikes & transport. When accommodation at our next place didn't work out they happily allowed us to stay another 2 nights. The views over the mountains, tropical plants & coast are breathtaking, and the inner garden courtyard where the rooms face is full of banana & breadfruit trees as well as tropical flowers. The breakfast is big & varied day by day- the view from the breakfast roof terrace room is stunning. They gave us tinfoil to take the sandwiches we had made from breakfast on our hike with us.

Amazing property, cosy garden and pool area, so nice to relax after several hiking days!
Very small village but with lots of charm. Visit the Hotel Tienne del Mar for a dinner or for a drink, there are amazing views. Pombas is also a good place for some great hikes (Cova-Pombas or Pombas-Pico da Cruz-Janela).
