A nice city to visit for 2-3 days, less touristic than Prague. There's not too much to see. Mind that especially during the winter is a bit empty of people and places close very early. My favourite restaurants were Moravskà (a bit expensive compared to the others) and Snyt Mikulda. Food is good, authentic and really cheap.Guest review byBenedettaItaly - Review score8.0

Olomouc is a beautiful smaller city with a quiet, calm, university vibe. There is a great Museum of Modern Art and a Diocesan Museum with a large art collection and museum sections covering the development of the city from prehistory to today. We loved the town for its architecture and its energy. There is a park area surrounding much of it which is wonderful for walking. Loved our time in Olomouc, during intense rain and flooding!
Loved our time in Olomouc, during intense rain and flooding! We still managed to get out and about a bit, mainly to places for food and drink. Great drinks, service and atmosphere at Malá Itálie v Olomouci Aperitivo Bar for pre-meal cocktails. Lovely friendly staff at U Červeného volka with great tank beer and food. Both places in Dolni námešti. Also enjoyed several floors of modern art, as well as a great viewpoint at the top of the building in Muzeum umění Olomouc. Vinný šenk U Zlatého beránka at Univerzitní 2 was good for a late-night specialist tipple: wines we knew, and wines we didn't. The History Museum in námesti Republiky was interesting too. (It's the yellow building a few paces from the Museum above.) We walked everywhere but there seemed to be plenty of trams and cabs. We arrived by train at the main station and walked through Bezručovy sady park and gardens to our hotel - Arigone. Easily got a cab back to the station, ordered by the reception staff for us. Wonderfull city with a great atmosphere and beautiful architecture. Not crowded to much - you can enjoy it in peace. A lot of nice restaurants and bars. Great for 1 or 2 night stay. Nice alternative for Prague etc. especially if you don't like crowds.Guest review byM&L.Poland

The dormitory was huge and very thoughtfully designed so that each bed has its own private space. I felt like I was in a hotel! The bed was really comfy, you get a towel without having to pay extra, and the bathrooms were amazing and clean as well. The girl at the desk was really lovely.
