We didn't have an itinerary or anything planned out during our trip, we just went with the flow as the day progressed. We visited Altenstein Palace which is such a beautiful castle. I have no idea if you are able to go inside but at the time of our visit we didn't notice any signs are anything to be able to so we just walked around the gardens and park area. We found a few other attractions that we enjoyed. We ate dinner at a local restaurant, AKSU Doner, Pizzeria & Eiscafe, which was reasonable priced, friendly staff, and of course delicious food. They have a big selection of food which was great because I have a picky son. We also got to enjoy some ice cream at a different establishment, Eiscafe Zum Polarstern. We enjoyed the ice creams we ordered.Guest review byortiz

They confirmed my belief that Thuringia as a destination generally and the Werra Valley in particular is one of the most underrated parts of Germany.
