Great place on the Bodensee to Konigsee cycle route. Very quiet location. Our extra large room (#11) was very comfortable, quiet, and had pleasant views from the balcony. Bad Tölz is nice town for overnight with river and some old town charm. Good bike storage and breakfast. Check in staff was extremely friendly and even helped us with our cycle panniers to the second floor room.

I came here to see a friend but I would go back just to enjoy the place. Bad Tolz is one of the prettiest, and certainly the best kept, places I have been to. The buildings in the main street are picture-perfect and there are several cafes and restaurants offering local food at very reasonable prices. The river walks are easy but there are plenty of hills if you want something more strenuous. The climb up Kalvarienberg to get to the church is well worth it for the beauty of the church itself and also for the stunning views.
When you go, be prepared for all weathers as there can be storms in the evenings so take a brolly. Also take a rubber ring so that you can jump in the crystal clear river and float all the way to Munich. It's a thing.

Bad Tolz was ideal as it has an attractive old town, river side location, lots of walking/cycling routes in addition to local run events ( music & night market)

Bad Tölz is amazing, such Old World charm, such details and picturesque buildings, lovely views. The bakeries are amazing. Above all, it is so relaxing, so soothing, silent. You can imagine people from the past centuries coming here to have a cure and take the healing waters. It is very charming and old fashioned but in a great way.

Lovely Bavarian city with beautiful city center with restaurants, cafes, ice cream, bakeries and small shops. Wonderful for walks around or along the river Isar where you can just wade in or swim (although the water is cold). On the river bank there is the pathway for cycling or skateing and part of city with spa where you can relax.
For the Czechs: in the restaurant by the church there is the cook from Moravia. Delicious meal! :)

A lovely old market town directly on the River Isar.
A lovely old market town directly on the River Isar. It was quiet when we were there but the Spring/Easter market was just starting and it was nice to see people coming out to explore. The architecture is stunning and the central location of the town makes it a really good choice of base for exploring the wider area. We also had some great food here!

A cosy hotel in a very good place, Surronded by forests and hills it offers a pleasant place to hide and rest. The surrounding area offers many hiking and wandering routes.
The breakfast is very good, far beyond the german simplicity what is unfortunatelly very common.
Beautiful villa in a quiet location, easy online check in, no key, only code. Host sent all infos via email and is available via phone. Option to have a breakfast in the hotel nearby (2 min walk). Perfect!
