Renowned for its stunning architecture and the world’s largest fair, Oktoberfest, Munich needs little introduction. Its vibrant cultural scene, great shopping and fantastic museums speak for themselves.
Munich has something for everyone: from historic palaces and castles, to stunning royal avenues to world class galleries and museums. Don't miss the new city hall, or Glockenspiel, in the heart of Marienplatz or the former residence of the Bavarian kings, the Residenz. Munich is also home to the world’s most famous beer hall, the Hofbräuhaus.
For great shopping, Karlsplatz is a pedestrian zone which takes up much of the city centre and the upscale area around Maximilianstrasse is yet another commercial wonderland. Munich is famous for its food too, so make sure you try the local Weißwurst, Leberkässemmeln and other popular pork dishes.
Thanks to efficient S-Bahn train, getting to the city center from Germany’s second busiest airport, Munich International Airport is quick and easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, youth hostels or comfortable apartments, Booking.com has the perfect accommodation for your Munich visit.
If you go for budget stays, its a gamble and tricky.
If you go for budget stays, its a gamble and tricky. Just know the less expensive the place of stay, the less enjoyable... Hotel wise. When with friends or family, you get to enjoy the visit more than when solo. The city is costly so plan well with finances... However its a beautiful experience overall...

The archictecture, the many parks and wonderful beer gardens. A great city to get around on foot, but also has fantastic public transportation. Or rent a bike to get around this mostly flat city. The many museums and beautiful churches and great shopping. We ate at the Ratskeller directly on Marienplatz on a Sunday late afternoon and had fun watching couples come for coffee and cake and dancing! The Park Cafe Brewery in the Botanical Gardens was very hip, with a huge bar and beer garden. The menu included traditional Bavarian specialties, grilled meats, as well as SUPER FOODS and Thai dishes, as well as a Patisserie with delicious cakes and desserts.

Munich is a big city, however the best sites are in the old part of the city. It has a good subway and a good train station. It is also not too far from other places in Germany to do day trips.
If you are a fan of museums it has those as well. A trip to Germany would not be complete without a visit to Munich.

This is an amazing city.
This is an amazing city. So friendly and so much to see and do. The food is fantastic and I could have happily stayed for much longer. Feel like we only scratched the surface but will definitely be back - we liked exploring Haidhausen/ Wienerplatz on our last day and will be looking to try some of the other neighbourhoods next time.

We have a similar feeling about Munich as we do about Milan...
We have a similar feeling about Munich as we do about Milan in Italy - a fashionable and cosmopolitan city, where centuries-old history is combined with a modern city, where historical places such as the Munich Residence, the Bavarian State Opera or Marienplatz intersect with modern arcades such as the Five Courts Arcade and wonderfully relaxed cafes such as Cafe Luitpold or Emporio Armani Caffe. A city full of culture, from small performances in Cafe Luitpold to excellent opera performances, such as the recent Carmen or Turandot. Munich is a relaxed city in the center, it is pleasant to walk through the streets full of shops, cafes, beer halls and restaurants. It is a city that has a unique atmosphere and attracts new and new visits. And there is always something new there to discover and deeply experience.

This is a lovely, family run hotel with really friendly and helpful staff. My room was small, but very clean and with a very comfortable bed.
The breakfast was very good, with freshly cooked eggs and bacon in addition to the continental buffet. There is also a nice bar.
The location is also good, with a five minute walk to the tram stop and just a few stops to the HBF and then a few further stops to the city centre.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Munich.
The location of the hotel was ideal. We booked this hotel as we wished to visit the Christmas Market which was only a short walk away. It was also convenient to visit other places with the city centre.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was cleaned daily.
There was a good choice of food for breakfast.
I can highly recommend this hotel for a city break in Munich.
My 7 year-old loved the bunk bed! It’s very hard to find a hotel with a bunk bed over a double bed, perfect if you have a young child in the room with you. We were also able to watch the fireworks from our hotel window. Travelling from the hotel to Munich city centre was very easy since the U3 stops very close to the entrance.
The selection of hot and cold food at breakfast was great.
The staff were very friendly and always happy to help.
Although there isn't lots around the hotel, it isn't far from Munich City Centre and it was only a 10min walk from my work conference, which was ideal for me.
Great location right in the centre of Munich. It’s a friendly hotel and typical of a city centre establishment. Breakfasts had lots of choice and we were able to park the car in the underground secure car park.
