The rooms and location are fine—rustic but clean, just as shown in the pictures. The WiFi is surprisingly good, even for streaming. The town itself is very small, so no matter where you stay, you're within walking distance of everything, including restaurants, shops, and local attractions.

A quaint little town with an artist's flair. The Passiontheater is definitely worth a visit, the walk down through the streets visiting artisans and shops is such a treat. Don't miss St. Peter and Paul church. We had planned to visit the Alpine coaster but spent too much time just walking around the town. We even stopped, out of curiosity, to eat at a Mexican restaurant. It was pretty good! I would love to visit during the August Feuer und Flame event some day.

If you're looking for the quintessential Bavarian mountain village to spend a week or two (or even a few days), Oberammergau is your place. The village has a unique history and so picturesque. Expect to put the steps in as walking is the way to get around. A hikers or stroller paradise. Food options are plentiful.

Oberammergau...
Oberammergau...A quiet town, full of charm, where traditions still live...Luftlmalerei, wood carving, Passion play, easy walks and hikes. Many options for trips around within a radius of one to two hours. Public transport to the objectives is excellent. Not to be missed: Schloss Linderhof, Ettal monastery, Garmisch Partenkirchen, Zugspitze summit

The hotel is right at the center of Oberammergau and hence all attractions are within walking distance. The room was very spacious with two levels as indicated in the booking. The mountain views were truly beautiful. The staff was very friendly and even guided us as and when required.
The breakfast could probably be improved to include various other options like Vegan, Salmon etc.

The apartment was very spacious, clean and nicely furnished. It had everything I needed, the kitchen was also equipped with some basic groceries, like oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, etc. The area was a bit at the outskirts of Oberammergau, but very good starting point for hiking. Especially the nearby public swimming pool and sauna (3 min. walk) were amazing.
The hospitality and the warmth of the entire Ortner family that runs the place especially Wolfgang Ortner. The location is great too and the restaurant serves excellent food. I will go back to this hotel any day.
Our room was spacious and lovely with a well equipped and designed bathroom. The balcony was an additional excellent feature. Breakfast was fine, similar to what we’ve experienced in other nearby hotels.
