The breakfast was generous - juice, choice of egg, yoghurt, meats and cheese, diverse rolls and cake and fruit. The restaurant, though only open three days for dinner, served a nice choice of meals. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Some interesting nearby small towns and many paths for walkers.

This area is a good route from Dresden and Leipzig to the Czech Republic or, southward, to Nuernberg and Muenich. It was just over the former wall dividing Bavaria from the DDR and Saxony. There is a long history of the German Volk, but many of the buildings are only a few centuries old, the area having been razed during the Thirty year war, the Napoleonic wars, and WW II. Nearby Hof has an extensive series of tour plaques recoding this history. Only occasional billboards refer to the recent past (Mauerzeit). The countryside is lovely.
