This is a wonderful old historical hotel situated in a wooded are at the foot of a lot of hiking trails. The front desk person was a wonderful man who was incredibly accommodating given our late arrival, making an exception with regard to the late night menu and allowing us to relax from our long trip to go pick up a car in the next town over. The hotel itself is a like a throwback in time. It felt like we were back in the movie “Holiday Inn” with wonderful antique furniture, old photos on the wall, and great music from a time gone by. So much history within these walls yet the hotel room has all the modern conveniences and amenities. The grounds are beautiful and scenic with a lake leading into the hiking hills. A nice outdoor beer garden and lots of places to socialize or just isolate and relax.
