After Giza and Cairo, Aswan was more relaxing. I enjoyed Kafana Guesthouse, Nubian Museum, Abu Simel and a wonderful felucca ride arranged by Kafana Guesthouse. Philae Temple was fine too. I really enjoyed eating at Makani at the ferry stop. However my best meal in Egypt was at El Modesh in Abu Simel. Delicious fish and a special rice dish. And cheap!

There is much to enjoy in Aswan-Philae Temple, Botanical Gardens,Nubian Village, the main Market. Further afield there is access to Abu Simbel.
Just going around town trying the different drinks on offer is quite nice from fresh juices , like pomegranite ,strawberry, lemon with Mint, or Sudanese or Turkish coffee or different Teas like ginger and lemon. The atmosphere is vibrant. One think I found difficult was finding places to eat. Ended up in Macdonalds a couple of times however that didn't open till 1pm in the afternoon. Good air conditioning though

I love being on boats on the Nile -- feluccas, motor launches, kayaks all provide wonderful, peaceful moments in a beautiful setting. The people are generally kind and helpful (though their persistent efforts to encourage you to use their services can be wearing).

Loved the island location of Pyramisa Aswan, and the quaint putt-putt boat ride to the hotel from our arrival point Aswan city’s Nile shores…the location was well maintained and we had two double rooms, which were upgraded to a joint doubles…the Felucca rides are also accessible to and from Hotel and it opens up many Nubian style dining located around other islands in this area of the Nile…
Many opportunities for beautiful photography… although we were there during evenings… good for relaxation from busy schedule of trips…
We had little time to explore the hotel but from the outset it is against a lush backdrop and facing the gently flowing Nile… no sound could disturb you as the boats hardly go down passing the hotel…excellent location!
The Manager Christina and staff were quite attentive to the needs of my young family! Tipping is expected by the boat crew and it would do well to prepare with small change (local denomination)…
Enjoyed our two nights’ stay
and looking forward to visiting soon!!!

This was our favourite stay in Egypt! Amazing location on Elephantine island- small very regular boat service across every 5 mins - hotel has a lovely relaxing garden and great views from rooftop. Honesty bar where you can buy drinks and beer and take to rooftop. Room very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly and helpful and happy for us to relax in their garden till the time of the overnight train in the afternoon which was fantastic. Highly recommended and amazing value for money !
The best hotel in Aswan and of what we have been traveling in Egypt. Super attentive staff, they look for us taxis - with price list-, takeaway, because if I had to find a but, it is that there is no restaurant service. Everything very clean. Located in the middle of the market. Very honest and reasonable with prices. I recommend it 100x100.

The hotel was clean, had adequate amenities and staff were friendly. View from the balcony was amazing. Food from the restaurant was great and fairly priced, service was excellent as well. They could also help arrange tours to Abu Simbel at reasonable prices. Highly recommend Citymax if Aswan is in your Egypt itinerary.
Kano Kato is a charming Nile side hotel serving delicious Egyptian fare and the best mango juice in Egypt. Our hosts Gasser and Ahmed could not have been more helpful. We are already planning our next visit in Nov 2025.
Awsan nubian House was our best hotel in whole our trip in Égypte , very nice place, very quiet and Saïd the owner is super friendly and humble person.
For sur we ll come back again
