Breakfast and location were perfect. Very easy to go to Airport gate. You could inform guests without free breakfast about payment process. It was a little awkward when staff came to me with inquiry.

Check-in was a breeze. The staff was helpful with getting my wife and I multiple things during the trip. Our air conditioning wasn't working properly and after a few hours of back and forth, Mr. Mahmoud was able to get us an upgraded room with good air conditioning. The breakfast buffet has a wide variety of options for guests. 1

FAQs about hotels in Cairo

Resting Place of Pharaohs

Born of an ancient civilization, Cairo is a vast metropolis centered around the Nile. Its sheer scale can feel overwhelming (especially when flying over Cairo Airport), so plan ahead. An obvious starting point are the Giza Pyramids. Although the pharaohs are long gone, the grandeur of their burial pyramids, the Sphinx and Solar Boat are testament to their ambition.

The city’s Egyptian Museum houses a dazzling display of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including finds from Tutankhamen's tomb in Luxor. Around the corner is Tahrir, a huge square and focal point of the 2011 Egyptian Revolution.

East is Islamic Cairo, home to the 9th-century Ibn Tulun Mosque, Al-Azhar Mosque (site of the world’s oldest university), and the Khan el-Khalili souk (remember to haggle). The Citadel, with its elegant Mohammed Ali Pasha Mosque, sits on a hill offering far-reaching city views.

If you need a break from cultural tours, take a Nile cruise by felucca, spot wildlife in Wadi Digla desert park or visit Egypt’s top theme parks: Dream Park and Magic Land, where you can tour Egyptian TV studios.

Before heading to your Cairo accommodations, sample the local cuisine – the falafel and fuul (bean paste) are delicious. Coffee is a staple and there are hundreds of shisha bars, while major Cairo hotels have bars serving alcohol.

Unless you are crazy about ancient Egypt I would not recommend to stay in Cairo longer than a day or two. Major concern is driving. This is simply dangerous. There are no driving rules in Cairo-the road takes as many cars as there are. Most of cars are scratched and after car accidents as it seems to be a normal way of driving around. Use Uber to save money-do not take taxi in airport, price will be considerably higher. Do not expect much from personnel even in expensive hotels, most likely you will find their way to deal quite rude. We did not enjoy much the private tours to Giza and to Cairo museum-the price you pay will not cover entrance ticket or drop off to airport-it is advised in the condition when you book, but when you are ready for a tour-you are surprised to know that your pick up location is outside of the free area and you need to take a car yourself for instance... We did have a fantastic tour to Giza, but it was a group tour as well as snorkeling group tour-very well organized... But private tours are always a surprise.

Cairo is a city with deep culture. Islamic, Christian and ancient Egyptian. Wonderful to immerse yourself in if you are open to new things. But remember this is not your first world city. Streets are busy and dirty and the roads are chaotic.

Cairo was a fascinating city. There is so much history here and you could spend months here to do it justice. Nothing prepares you for being confronted with the Great Pyramid and the desert sitting just across the road. It is very affordable and getting about is easy thanks to Uber.

The room size was fine, the design was pleasant and it was clean, decent for a 5 star hotel, which is not always the case in Cairo. The reception, cleaning and concierge service were helpful. The breakfast is also good quality but not so many options. The location is not far from the Airport, in a silent area, and far from the noise of the city center.
