Canfranc Estacion is a nice little town with lots to do if you like activities such as hiking, walks, exploring rural and mountain locations. We liked the local restaurants for evening meals and coffees. The main attraction - Old Station is a fascinating structure, it feels almost a live creature. Recommend the Station (which is now a 5* hotel) bar for coffee and drinks (overpriced, but worth the experience) , the restaurant is available for lunches - great cuisine and service.

The town itself is nothing much and was disappointing from the shopping/cafe/restaurant perspective. However it is dominated by a truly spectacular and magnificent former railway station which has very recently been converted into a very comfortable hotel. The real attractions of Canfranc -Estacion are the mountains that are very close by. We were there in summer so did not see them in all their majesty but we did see where the ski runs went. Some truly great runs. We did do some short trail walks as we only had limited time but we did see others who were equipped for some serious climbing. It really is a year round resort.

Beautiful area. Lots of small interesting villages nearby.
Beautiful area. Lots of small interesting villages nearby. Scenery is breathtaking. We visited in June. Weather was great and mountains and hillsides were green and full of wildflowers. Great for hiking and perhaps biking or running. In the winter most likely a skiers paradise.

Charming mountain town with easy transport links to France and Zaragoza. Enjoyed hanging out over chocolate and churros people watching. Seems like a few things to do in the area if you have your own transport.

The staff was exceptionally hospitable and helpful. Check in and out were very flexible, and the host answered my questions thoroughly ad openly. The place was very clean, both in the public spaces and in the bedroom. Super close to the train station and great value for the little money you pay.
I also really liked that the hotel provided me with a special card to get a discount at a restaurant nearby for every meal of the day.
Just a short walk from the bus stop.
I arrived very early due to bus time, but was able to check in as my room was ready.
The food was enjoyable. Breakfast was buffet style and dinner was 4 course with multiple choices.
The hotel is right across from the old train station and very close to many different trails for hiking.
The hotel itself is spectacular and unique.
The room and bed were comfortable.
We enjoyed being greeted with a glass of Cava and drinks in the bar later. A nice touch to be given an ice bucket for a small bottle of Cava.
The hotel and room was clean, comfortable and perfectly located for our stopover from the south of Spain to the UK.
We didn't stay long enough to use many of the facilities unfortunately.
