From the moment one arrives, the laconic receptionists do not hide that there are other things they would rather be doing than serving guests. The pool area is very nice and the water looked very clean and inviting, although some of its surrounding lawn has receded to just be dirt. The room was spacious and the bed's mattress was comfortable. Although, the old pillows smelt of mould and made my skin itch. In fact, when the air conditioning was off, the whole room had a bit of a mouldy smell. The rooms on the river side (101 to 110 I think) were quite noisy throughout the night, with people talking in the laneway between the rooms and river, and outboard motorboats passing at all hours. The Booking.com ad for the room states that breakfast is included. Yet, they insisted I pay for my breakfast. When I showed them the listing that says breakfast is included, they blamed Booking.com for not letting them know that it is the case... plus, they said, I didn't choose a breakfast that is the free option: though there is no guidance on what is and is not. One interesting moment is that I fell into conversation poolside with a very inebriated local ex-convict. I don't know what he was doing there, as he was not a guest. But we ruminated on life's challenges for a while. That was memorable.

I liked everything house was clean and cozy I loved the fact they had everything for cooking and the staff was super nice friendly and caring

The property is excellent, comfortable and friendly and the owner is very accommodating. I would highly recommend this property to others if you are looking for accommodation in Labasa.
