We booked this hotel at a very competitive price late in the day with little expectations. First impressions were that it would be of poor quality as all the communal areas were dark and in need of some refreshing. But we were pleasantly surprised with the clean room with a recently modernised bathroom. A garage was offered for my Motorbike, which again was most welcome as it was an urban area. Wine was reasonably priced and there was a secluded terrace where it could be drunk pre dinner. The dinner which was offered at 15 euros (total price) again surprised us greatly, having not great expectations at that price. Four courses with 4-5 multiple choices for each course of good wholesome well cooked food. A marvellous experience! And a sign that this was not a rarity, the dinning room was full of locals too. Well done hotel Bertrand for exceeding expectations.

The property is a short walking distance from the main square where there are many restaurants and bars. The room was spacious and warm and a peaceful nights sleep was had. The breakfast was a delicious and plentiful continental style serving, with homemade jams made by Isabelle, local pastries and bread. A perfect start to anyone's day! Isabelle the host was a delight, nothing was too much for her, her attention to detail and helpfulness was amazing. Highly recommended.
