A Labyrinth of History and Architecture
Chartres is a French medieval town in the Eure-et-Loir department, about 90 km from Paris. Home to historic 16th-century buildings, half-timber houses, narrow streets and large squares, this well preserved city will amaze you with its beauty.
The 13th-century Cathedral of Chartres is the city’s main landmark and a famous site of Christian pilgrimage. Featuring 18th-century stained-glass windows and a stunning façade with bas-relief sculptures and stone statues, this UNESCO World Heritage is one of the most important Gothic cathedrals in France.
On the back side of the Cathedral, travellers will find a Grass Labyrinth, date back to around 1200. According to the tradition, pilgrims used to go to the centre of the labyrinth in order to receive the grace of God.
The Massacre Bridge is one of the bridges crossing the Eure River, which flows right to the heart of the old part of the city. Chartres has also beautiful churches like the St. Aignan and the St. Martin-au-Val.

L'edifici és una casa antiga molt bonica i arreglada, amb una situació excel·lent, prop del casc antic de Chartres però amb llocs per aparcar el cotxe al carrer sense pagar. A l'habitació no li manca detall i està decorada amb gust. El llit còmode i el bany ampli. L'esmorzar és complet, amb productes casolans com ara el pa i les confitures, deliciosos.
