Conques-en-Rouergue – 9 hotels and places to stay

Aux gorges du Dourdou has a shared lounge, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Conques-en-Rouergue.

We’ve never stayed at a hotel and felt so eager to return. We were treated like family and had a truly enjoyable stay. Our room was spotless, quiet, and provided a beautiful view of the river. The breakfast was outstanding—full of variety and perfectly prepared. The best we’d had our entire journey! The hosts went above and beyond, and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for making our visit so special and memorable. Highly recommend!

Offering a garden, a terrace, and free Wifi, LA CONQUISE is a recently renovated homestay 24 miles from Rodez Train Station and 25 miles from Notre Dame Cathedral.

Everything! It’s an old historic building right at a portal for entering the medieval village. We had the Panoramic Room (completely renovated), with beautiful rooftop views that transport you back in time. The continental breakfast was perfect with a lot of variety for everyone. Ghislaine was an amazing host with a wonderful sense of humour, and made everyone feel special. We shared stories and she even let me practice my French, without making too much fun of me! lol

An oasis of calm. 1930's in the 21 centuary. Lots of hot water. Comfy bed. Clean. Community. French of a bygone age. Relaxed.

We found our stay at Conques to be a really fascinating stopover- quite isolated and very beautiful. There was a rustic charm to everything and the people were really open and friendly. We ate at one of the larger restaurants right across from the cathedral and a pitstop for the travellers on the Compostela. You have to park and walk a very short distance to the town but its organised and doesn't cost too much. I would plan where to eat earlier in the day as it was a last minute choice for us.
