Friendly reception in English, great location just a few mins off the motorway on our way back to the UK [leaves just a 3 hour drive to Calais the next day] Excellent for dogs with direct access to the lawn areas from the rooms. Carrefour supermarket close by and restaurants nearby if needed. Excellent value for money. Good breakfast worth the 9 euros.

The property is in the countryside so it's quite secluded - however, it's right by a road so it's easy to get to. It was raining while I was there so I didn't get a chance to look around the smallholding. But, even in the rain, I had a fantastic view from the bedroom window - see my photo! Celine and Julien are really lovely hosts - responsive to messages about arrival time, etc, friendly and welcoming when I got there, available to help out when I had questions. The room itself was lovely - really big and with tea/coffee making facilities. It was quite cool when I visited and the hosts had already turned the heater on in the room to make sure I was comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and I got a fabulous night's sleep. There is no noise at all to disturb you - even the road is quiet at night. The bathroom is large and modern and all you could need. There was plenty of hot water, whenever I needed it. The guest facilities all seem to have been recently decorated to a high standard - so, it's stylish as well as homely and confortable. Breakfast is included and was really good - with home-made jams and cake. Possibly home-made bread, too? I had to rush off in the morning to catch an earlier ferry than anticipated so didn't have as much time here as I would have liked. I would definitely recommend a stay here - the countryside is beautiful and there's a lot to explore. I hope to go back and see some more of the area and would definitely stay at Auberge de la Croix du Maupas, again.
