We arrived on our gravel bikes, tired, wet and needing to repair a picture. Francoise helped us out in one of his barns and then invited us for tea and biscuits in their lounge, and we all brushed up our English and French. We had the room with a bath which was very welcome. Valerie set two places in her kitchen, and I had free run to cook the food we had brought with us for dinner. In the morning we had croissants with preserves from the garden, and Valerie’s homemade yogurt with pear compote and cooked peaches again from the garden. We loved being welcomed into this kind couples beautiful home, and left having made new friends.
