Wow - I don't know where to start. Jean-Francois and Claude are amazing hosts. The place is immaculately clean and fitted, clear to see a lot of love put into it. We stayed in the upper loft room which was so nice and functional. Breakfast was amazing with homemade yoghurt, marmalades, and baked goods. Parking was easy in a small lot across the street. The village is small with one restaurant (closed on Sunday), and one pizzeria which was very crowded so we drove 9 minutes to an open restaurant in the village down the road which was great. The entire house and garden is like a museum so carefully decorated. No reason to stay in Carcasonne when this place is only a few minutes' drive south. Which we'd stayed another night, but we'll be back !

We were en-route from Bordeaux to Provence and needed a one night stay near Carcassonne. We wish we could've stayed longer at Les Amis de Gaure! The space was quite magical. The guesthouse hosts Benoit and Teres were so hospitable and kind. Their dinner recommendation in the nearby old city of Carcasonne was tres Bien! The space was very stylish, clean, and spacious. They even prepared a baby crib for our 15month old daughter (who loved exploring the surroundings). Breakfast on the patio surrounded by nature was the cherry on top. We highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone looking for an authentic experience with amazing hosts. Do check out their wine tastings as well. We hope to come back soon!
