It is so much nicer than the photos. Has everything you need for an excellent stay. The pool is shared with upstairs but worked out well. We loved our stay. No WiFi. Complete getaway. Very clean and lovely owners. We will go back. X

We were there for a wedding ceremony in Auberge du Pont Calleck. This was just a 4 minute drive away. The area iis very picturesque with a beautiful river flowing through the valley.. ideal for walking and cycling.

The peace and quiet away from everything in a really comfortable and well equipped gite. The swimming pool and the woodland walk added to the appeal. The hosts were very helpful but not intrusive. The grounds were beautiful and well kept with numerous seating areas but not directly to our particular gite.

Totally unusual place to stay and as it happened we were the only people there that night! Apparently it's usually full at weekends with large wedding groups- total bed space for 65 people. It is run by the Mairie ( local authority).
Very good value. Really friendly staff. Bicycles stored in locked garage and we were the only ones who had a key! Great breakfast and superb view of the chateau to wake up to in the morning.

The tranquility of the location and the excellent service provided by the host. She promptly dealt with all queries and alongside her husband made us feel welcome.
The swimming pool was well presented and heated up.
Beautiful outdoor space with BBQ area. Nice game room though not much accessed by us but very much.
Close to shopping store, 8 minutes drive, and petrol station for people driving.
We made booking for a family of 4 but the space and sleeping facilities on ground would have taken much more than that 😊. Very spacious ensuite rooms with extra sleeping beds and baby cots. Kitchen facility is also spot on. Very large outdoor space suitable for walks and just general lounging.
Overall, we had an exceptionally refreshing time.
A nice place with character, in a fairly central location.
A nice place with character, in a fairly central location. However their request for a significant Ransom, i.e. money held against damage, and not a Deposit which is paid in advance to guarantee the accommodation, would be totally outlawed in the UK and not tolerated by British holiday makers! Are Ransoms normal for holiday cottages in France? If so I cannot understand why the French put up with it. Another point to be made is that they welcome people from other countries other than France but make no effort to have instructions and literature available in English, which almost all visitors from any other country speak as a second language. I was amused speaking to one French lady there, she was learning Esperanto (a dead international language rather than English). French pride is a real problem! I am a direct descendant of William the Conqueror who in 1066 came from Normandy in France and then we descendants of William returned along with the rest of the English speaking world (the USA and the Commonwealth) some 878 years later in 1944 to rescue France from the Nazis and from extinction and having to speak German. You should all be speaking English in gratitude let alone making instructions available in this international language!
