We really like our family suite. No frills but very cute and perfect for our family of four. The view from the room balcony is amazing. And we love the lobby bar area where we like to enjoy a glass of wine and charcuterie. The location of the hotel is also fantastic. Finally, the people who work at the hotel are very kind and helpful.

I thought the place was great, and the staff was very friendly! My only comment was the place was a little understaffed and a 24 hour desk would have been nice. The hard boiled egg machine at breakfast also did not work so well.

We were there for a ski holiday. The runs for beginners are the best I have seen. lots of green runs and a run with a very long covered travelator which was great for our 5 year old. The resort had enough challenging runs for our mixed party. We went at the beginning of January but the elevation of the resort at 1,800M was high enough to get good snow.

Esf instructors lived up to their reputation.
Esf instructors lived up to their reputation. Absolutely exceptional for both adults and the children.
The lines were perfect for all abilities and great for families just starting out.
Lots of lovely places to eat, and so many fun activities for the children, like sledging, tubing, rollercoaster, mountain karts, husky rides and instructor stunt show.
Make sure you book restaurants before you go. La Cabane get booked up quickly and you can’t get there on foot, but the snow bashed takes you up there at night (fun for kids).
Le 37 is really good, as is the Sporting restaurant (not a sports bar) and we were recommended La Cremaillère and Pinocchio but couldn’t get in as they were full.
Hotel Grand Rousses restaurant is exceptional. We hired a pod outside. The service at this hotel was second to none. Sadly not what we experienced at Le Pic Blanc hotel 😔
Le Spot is a lovely outdoor bar with a stunning view down the Chez Roger. Signal 2108 restaurant is great but you need to book to sit upstairs. Downstairs is good but more canteen style which is where had lunch.
La Frutiére restaurant was so good for lunch. The casserole was delicious as was the burger. Good choice for children too and they get a little Folie Douce gift too.
Folie Douce was brilliant. Kids were there too which was nice.

It offers something for everything.
It offers something for everything. The resort is high and as such offers good snow certainty. It feels so much more relaxed than some of the other resorts we have been too which can feel quite stuffy! Largely it was more affordable too which sensible value bars and restaurants. All in all a wonderful destination wheee the locals work tirelessly to give their visitors a memorable experience.

Great town with good bars and restaurants and lots to do, but the ski area has shocking dated lifts and gondulas rather than chairs. As many French resorts they need to spend like the Austrian's do. Also the standard of piste bashing is poor, with some reds not done at all. All runs lead into town which is great. In conclusion. good town, let down by the lifts and quality of piste work at night.

Large resort, great lift access from village to the main slopes - Thought the resort was a bit pricey for eating out and drinks but to be expected I suppose.
Great for beginners and intermediates.
ESF private lessons were excellent
We eat at Smithy's, Pinocchio, La Racletterie and grabbed a pixxa from the restuarant above Underground Bar - All were very good

The best hotel I have stayed in alpe d'huez. Best location, next to most of the main lifts and ski in ski out. The service is excellent and focus on every detail to the perfection. Free spa access, including jacuzzi, pool and sauna. Night turn down service makes you feel relaxed.
Great location close to the main slopes.
Spacious rooms (we had the 2-bedroom apartment) with well equipped kitchen. Great facilities throughout the hotel. Pool is a good size too. Balcony a nice touch with a great view. Feels very new, modern and in great condition.
